Memory monitoring - capped zone

Hi all I think I have eventually figured out how we can monitor memory in a meaningful way in a capped zone. Looking at the "client data" sent to the server, can anybody tell me which data are used to calculate the figures, and percentage used for memory? Custom test- stats graphs and verbose text displayed on one page?

I'm writing a custom test, call it "ABC", with a fair amount of verbose output. The test works fine. When I send just the colon-separated statistics to a separate test page, call it ABC_stats, the ABC_stats RRD graphs work fine. But I'm wondering, is there a way to get the ABC_stats graphs onto the ABC output page? I tried sending it all together but RRDtool choked on the unexpected data. Sample ABC output: Total : 460599 Success : 450123 Failed : 10472 Files examined /data/foo/bar/yadda.20120725.log /data/foo/bar/yadda.20120726.log Errors: /data/foo/bar/yadda.20120725.log had value XYZ outside the expected range /data/foo/bar/yadda.20120725.log had value ABC with incomplete data

How to debug showgraph.sh?

Hello, I'm sure I saw a way to run showgraph.sh from the command-line in order to debug problems with it. As far as I remember it required setting the variable QUERY and perhaps some others before running it. I have looked, but cannot find how this was done. Can anyone offer any help here? (I have 4 client status pages for a local test which are not showing a graph, but are showing a link where the graph should be. The corresponding 'trends' page shows the graphs (so obviously RRD is working okay, and the graphs do exist). Also I have one client which does show the graph on the status page. Xymon 4.3.8 possible bug in 'Most changing' report

Sorry if this has been reported before, I couldn't find it. When I look at the most changing hosts and services report ( a very useful feature ) without filtering on host name and click on one of the hosts listed I see the event log for that host. When I use the host name filter (e.g. ^lp.*$) then click on any of the host names listed it results in the event log for all hosts that pass the filter, not just for the selected host. xymongen options.

We've been looking at ways of just showing reds on the critical systems view and I came across the xymongen option "--critical-reds-only" Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to work. My xymongen entry in tasks.cfg looks like this, CMD xymongen $XYMONGENOPTS --report --critical-reds-only We're running Xymon 4.3.4 and as far as I can see, this option should work in this version. Has anyone else tried this or had any success with it. We know we can change a couple of lines in criticalview.c to get the required result but would prefer to keep away from changing the code if possible. "include: command not found" in apache logs

There are a couple of shell scripts under cgi-bin that do this: . /path/to/xymonserver.cfg Unfortunately, I have an "include" in that file. So whenever I either do a report (report.sh) or look at a snapshot view (snapshot.sh) I get this kind of thing in the Apache log: [Wed Jul 25 09:45:18 2012] [error] [client 192.168.1.11] /usr/lib/xymon/server/etc/xymonserver.cfg: line 4: include: command not found, referer: https://servername/xymon-cgi/report.sh My include specifies a file called xymonserver-local.cfg, in which I define server-specific configurations such as XYMONSERVERHOSTNAME and XYMONSERVERIP. So these won't be seen by these two CGI scripts. I doubt that any of the definitions in my include file are important. However, if I had ALL of my definintions in an include file, and xymonserver.cfg consisted only of "include otherfile.cfg", I wonder what would break. It's obvious that the way the definitions are added into the CGI script's environment is not appropriate for the type of file - "Even though it might look like a shell-script, it is NOT." Furthermore, this extra line appears to be redundant, given that $CGI_SNAPSHOT_OPTS and $CGI_REP_OPTS both include "--env $XYMONENV", and $XYMONENV is set to /path/to/xymonserver.cfg. So I suspect that this line can be taken out altogether. Cheers Jeremy

disk graphs after a Solaris live_upgrade

After patching Solaris 10 using liveupgrade we get all the /.alt directories in the disk data graphs. Obviously they are in the RRD data file now, but totally redundant. All the graphs are messed up now. After patching was done and all these extra /.alt filesystems (one for each Zone, and we had 10) was unmounted The disk page looks normal again at the top, the df output. But all the graphs are messed up only the root fs and a data fs shows up in the graphs. We get all these non existing /.alt filesystems in the graphs and we are missing the original ones. Is there a way of getting it back to normal without destroying historical data? Maybe some fancy rrd command? And is there a way of preventing this for future liveupgrades? - Roland

Separate column for network interface stats?
