Hi all Trying to get an https test working to monitor certificate expiry. Test shows up red, with very descriptive "SSL Error". The xymonnet error appears a little more useful, but I can't find a resolution to the problem. Unspecified SSL error in SSL_connect to 47873/tcp on host 1.2.3.4: error:1411809D:SSL routines:SSL_CHECK_SERVERHELLO_TLSEXT:tls invalid ecpointformat list Additional info. xymonnet version 4.3.17 SSL library : OpenSSL 1.0.1j 15 Oct 2014 LDAP library: OpenLDAP 20423 Any advice appreciated. empty/broken extra graphs place holders 4.3.17

Upgraded from 4.2.3 to 4.3.17 and have noticed some strange behavior that is causing empty (broken) or extra graphs in 4.3.17 for the linux-iostat graphs as described in http://www.docum.org/drupal/content/linux-iotstat-graphs The linux-iostats script has been in use for years with out issue, until the upgrade. Now that we have upgraded to 4.3.17. There is only one iostat-disk.*.rrd file. How is first=5&count=4 calculated? it's redundant and empty. The first=1&count=4 is good. See debug snipit below. is tthe tps:Guage is being counted as extra graph value? I've looked at this until my eyes have crossed. Hoping a fresh set of eyes can point me in the right direct.ion. Wierd scrambled/garbled disk data

Therefore drive letters and drive sizes may appear at wrong positions as compared to a normal disk message. One may think that, of course, if (in the above example) Xymon receives in the C-drive line ' 29143392' - due to the inserted ] - shifted 1 position to the right where normally the Usage Percentage appears, it will interpret the' 29143392' as the Usage Percentage and hence of course issue an alarm as in the above: &red C (29143392% used).... (PS: I just spotted that the 1st line says "yellow ...", but the 2nd says "&red ..." - no idea why - but let's ignore this for now!) So my first guess was the BBWin clients may send these corrupted disk messages and to proof this I was trying to catch such data on the client side. But so far I did not manage to catch an example yet. I reckon that this line was generated at the Xymon server and not at the client, because it contains the server side (central mode) interpretation of the client data. And even this very Xymon generated line contains a ] now! That means the clients seem to be ok and the problem is at the Xymon server. This is also in line with my other observation on the above example: it says e.g. "&red 2427740 (2427740% used)". So it has interpreted '2427740' as the drive letter, which can be well explained by finding '2427740' on position 1 in one of the message lines. But why that same number again for the Percentage used ('2427740% used')? Really to me it seems the Xymon server program is confused. Our environment: Xymon 4.3.10 Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant) OS=32bit Hardware=i686 I did already search the mailing list for 'garbled' problems and found some, but they all did not seem to match my problem here, because they dealt with truncated messages. My messags are not truncated - they are garbled as in the above examples. Neverthess the recommondations there were to increase the MAX parameters, but I think ours are already high and I believe these are not causing our problems. Remove Windows drive from monitoring. I removed the H drive from the Windows Server 2008 r2 and Xymon is reporting it as "Unknown" and "not found". This is all good, but since it's not a failure, I would like to remove it. I tried deleting the RRD file, but it regenerated. Any help?

Ignore all log messages

Hi everyone, Does anyone have any advice on messages logging? I have a log for postgres that gets so many lines written in a day there's no way it can transfer all of them to the Xymon server. I don't need any of that traffic anyway. The only lines I need are ones that contain a few specific words. So I put this in client-local.cfg: [servername] log:/var/log/postgres.log:10240 ignore .* trigger %(FATAL|Fatal|FAIL|Fail|fail|Error|ERROR|error|Error|timestamp|deadlock|Deadlock|password authentication failed|pg_hba.conf|invalid magic number) log:/var/log/messages:10240 ignore %(postgres|RMS Printing Subsystem|connection received|disconnection|connection authorized) trigger %(FAIL|Fail|fail|Error|ERROR|error|Error|timestamp|deadlock|Deadlock|password authentication failed|pg_hba.conf|invalid magic number) file:/etc/passwd However, that doesn't seem to produce any log messages from the postgres log even when it should match one of the triggers. Client and server is version 4.3.17. I appreciate any ideas anyone has, or if someone has already done this if you could share your config I'd like to see how you did it. Thanks! Filtering on graphs

Hi, I'm looking for a method to filter the rrd's that are used in a graph. I can use FNPATTERN to filter on the name of the rrd file, but I also want to specify one or more files myself as a list on the URL (so NOT in the config file). In that case, FNPATTERN can be ignored (or the matched part of the file can be used in stead of the while file) and only the matched files are used in the graph. Example (placed on multiple lines for easy reading): host=my_host& service=my_service& files=file_1.rrd,file_2.rrd,file_3_rrd Before I start coding on this, has anyone tried this or has an other way to accomplish this? Monitoring Directory Permissions

Hi Tim,Bill Thanks for that. That's exactly how I thought I had it, and how I have it configured now. But it doesn't seem to work. Also, on the files status page, I see the directory, but clicking on it, I get nothing. Blank page. In the client data page, it gives me ERROR: No such file or directory The directory does exist. I would have the world breathing down my neck right now if it didn't. I have tried to ls the directory as Xymon to ensure I have read permissions in the parent directory, and it works there. But good to know I am on the right track. Something else must be wrong. I will investigate further. And yes, I am expecting this to end with a face-palm moment. Change path for installation for debian packages

I was able to change path successfully for RPM packages but I'm having a harder time with the debian packages.
