solaris client --> linux server... no updates

I've recently built the solaris client v. 4.3.17 its built and run in local mode But nothing ever ends up on the server to be displayed. The route to the server on port 1984 is open. Orange background color?

Hello all, we have a setup of Xymon 4.3.17, monitoring 711 devices at this time. Our operating staff is using the "All non-green view" as their starting point. Therefore it could be the situation, that one needs to acknowledge a red alert, so that the icon called "red-ack.gif" is being shown. In our setup, this icon "red-ack.gif" is not the default one; we are using an orange icon instead of the default red one. Now my question is just a cosmetical question: if -for example- we have only one red alert on the "All non-green view" (or on any page...), and this single red alert would be acknowledged, then "our" orange icon is being shown for this acknowledged alert, but the background color remains red. Would it be possible to define an orange background colour just for that case, if there's only one already acknowledged orange (red) icon per page? enadis page only showing the last scheduled disable

I saw where this was reported but I couldn't find any follow-up mention of a fix or cause. Just updated from xymon 4.3.12 to 4.3.17 on a RHEL 6.5 system. Now when I use the enadis page in the Scheduled Actions section it is only showing the last system that has a scheduled disable. Instead of the full list of pending disables. Thanks. Config files that supports "include" directive

Which XyMon config files support "include" directive? In man documentation it is described only for hosts.cfg: "include filename This tag is used to include another file into the hosts.cfg file at run-time, allowing for a large hosts.cfg file to be split up into more manageable pieces." Some time ago it was mentioned that it also works for alerts.cfg (but this is not documented) What about other files? It would be nice to work for all XyMon config files. This would simplify upgrade (I would just include referenced to custom configuration files). http column only has dashes

I am under the assumption if I put 'http' in the bb-host file, it will monitor http on that node. I cannot get the 'http' test to report -- it is only reporting dashes. Here is part of my bb-host file subpage test test group-only http|conn|cpu|disk|memory|raid 10.xxx.xxx.123 www.example.coml #CompReport The above is reporting everything except 'http', does anybody have a clue? usaims

Hi, I need to monitor multiple ip addresses per node. According to the man pages, it says: conn={best,|worst,}IP1[,IP2...] This adds additional IP-adresses that are pinged during the normal "conn" test. So the normal "conn" test must be enabled (the default) before this tag has any effect. The IP-adresses listed here are pinged in addition to the main IP-address. So I have one host in my bb-hosts that has multiple ip address to test: 10.xxx.xxx.100 www.example.com #CustomTest conn=worst 10.xxx.xxx.123 10.xxx.xxx.124 But I don't see the additional ip(s) being monitored on the web page. Any help will be greatly appreciated. usaims

Hobbit server is not sending email notifications

Hobbit server is not sending email notifications. I have verified that mail is working on the ubuntu server by sending a test email from the command line. It was working but I made a change in the hobbit-alerts.cfg and it hasn't worked since even if I revert back to the old configuration. This is what I have in the 'hobbit-alerts.cfg': HOST=xxxx.corp.local SERVICE=http MAIL email at xxxxxxx.com REPEAT=2 Even if I change the mail address to my google address, it won't work. Will somebody point out other stuff to troubleshoot, thanks. usaims

notifications sent with no alert settings

I have 3 xymon servers at different locations.. I just turned on CLock ( NTP ) tests in the analysis.cfg for some DB servers. I only have alerts for RED and purple on 1 xymon server. the other 2 have no alerts set up for this page. xymon ver 4.3.11 - I received yellow notifications from 2 different xymon servers for CPU ( CLock - NTP ) . How is that possible ?

Please can someone help me regarding the precedence of rules in analysis.cfg? analysis.cfg example to illustrate my questions: #----------------------------------------------------------- HOST=Win32Server DISK C 85 90 DEFAULT DISK * 90 95 CLASS=win32 DISK C 80 90 LOG %.* %error COLOR=yellow LOG eventlog:Application %warning COLOR=yellow IGNORE="%warning .* Symantec AntiVirus .* Could not scan .* files inside .* due to extraction errors encountered by the Decomposer Engines\.Application has encountered an error" #----------------------------------------------------------- Assumption: Host 'Win32Server' is a CLASS=win32 server running in central mode DISK questions: 1. Does Win32Server's C disk go yellow at 85, 90 or 95% ? 2. Is this because of the ORDER of the applying rules (first HOST, then DEFAULT, then CLASS) or is it because HOST is more specific then CLASS and CLASS is more specific then DEFAULT? 3. Does Xymon at all try to find further possibly matching DISK rules after the first matching rule - underneath HOST in this example - has been encountered? LOG questions: 1. If an eventlog message happens to match the 1st of the above listed LOG rules (because it contains 'error'), will the second rule be evaluated at all? 2. And if the 2nd rule should get evaluated, which of the 2 rules would take precedence? (Assuming both rules logically match, but have conflicting effects because of the IGNORE - i.e. a line that matches the IGNORE and hence has also the word 'error' in it. Will it be ignored, because the 2nd rule applies? Or will it show yellow, because the 1st rule applies? And why is this so? 3. The answers to the 2 prior questions will probably already have answered this one: Should specific LOG rules appear before or after the more general ones to give to give the first match precedence? Setting up custom graph to monitor mail queue on postfix

Hi, I using Xymon to monitor a postfix mail server, and want to monitor the different mail queues on it. I have found this script: https://wiki.xymonton.org/doku.php/monitors:postfix I have the data comming from the mail server to Xymon server: Mails active: 3 amount equal to last measure. Mails bouncing: 0 amount equal to last measure. Mails in deferred State: 63 amount equal to last measure. Corrupt Mails: 0 amount equal to last measure. Incoming Mails: 0 amount equal to last measure. But I have not succeded in getting the graph to work, I have follow the steps on the wiki site above, and I have also gone though the help file, about costum graphs, in Xymon web site. In xymonserver.cfg have I added: - 'postfix=ncv' to the TEST2RRD string - NCV_postfix="*:GAUGE" Also in graph.cfg have I added: [postfix] FNPATTERN postfix,(.*).rrd TITLE Postfix statistics YAXIS Mail(s) DEF:p at RRDIDX@=@RRDFN@:lambda:AVERAGE LINE2:p at RRDIDX@#@COLOR@:@RRDPARAM@ GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:LAST: \: %8.1lf (cur) GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:MAX: \: %8.1lf (max) GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:MIN: \: %8.1lf (min) GPRINT:p at RRDIDX@:AVERAGE: \: %8.1lf (avg)\n But it do not generate the rrd files, I think I have missed something, but I can't figure it out, I hope You can...
