Greetings, At work, I can only use the version that is available from Ubuntu's repo for my OS version which is Ubuntu 14.04. The version that will be going into production -- for a very busy site -- is 4.3.7. I have noticed that there are other versions available for ubuntu and I was wondering if is it worth pitching to the boss to use newer versions that is not on the Ubuntu's repo ist. Like the ones on this link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/xymon/files/Xymon/4.3.11/ Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. usaims

Greetings, My script is working as expected but if I click on the link below the name of my custom script, I'll get a white page with 'No Match'. Does anybody know how to add the descriptions of custom scripts -- like in 'conn' and 'http'. This would be a nice page for me to put a description of the test. how to learn what is crashing my rrd handler?

I'm having difficulty with my RRD handlers crashing and leaving gaps in my databases. I mentioned this back in April, 2014 but received no responses: http://lists.xymon.com/pipermail/xymon/2014-April/039547.html Since that time, I stumbled across a client which was occasionally sending me empty messages of the "data" type. When I stopped that behavior, the behavior was corrected. The behavior has returned and I am not able to figure out how to find the cause. I _suspect_ it is another client sending me empty messages, but how do I find it now that I have several hundred clients sending "data" messages? -- Do things because you should, not just because you can. XYMON-client getting started with xymon-server: how to send messages to other hosts

Hi! How can I configure xymon server to send the xymon-client portion messages (agent scripts with regards to the host) ONLY to an additional XYMON server? Is it sufficient to create /etc/default/xymon with the following lines: XYMONSERVERS="xymon-1 xymon-2" cat > /var/run/xymonclient-runtime.cfg <<EOF XYMSRV="0.0.0.0" XYMSERVERS="$XYMONSERVERS" EOF and restart xymon server? I mostly worry about those server-side generated pages based on "data" (disk,cpu,...). xymon 4.3.17 glitch - .netrc passwd not working for some https cont tests

I'm testing our 4.3.17 upgrade on a dev box and finding a minor glitch, that some https tests with content and passwords in .netrc are not working. they do work with password in the host file, so it's not a blocker, but I'm hoping to avoid that. This line works: cc.example.com # noconn ssh cont; https://username:password at cc.example.com/webdav/DEMO/;Hello delayred=http:2,conn:2,ssh:2 this line does not work cc.example.com # noconn ssh cont;https://cc.example.com/webdav/DEMO/;Hello delayred=http:2,conn:2,ssh:2 with .netrc containing: machine webdav-cc2.example.com login username password password machine webdav-cc1.example.com login username password password machine webdav-cc3.example.com login username password password machine cc.example.com login username password password There are four machines in the hosts.cfg , one representing the vip and three representing physical servers. Only the first machine, webdav-cc1, works. I played around with the order in both hosts.cfg and .netrc, doesn't seem to matter. I can auth with all of them using wget at the command line so it's not a connectivity issue any thoughts? exact same host file and .netrc work on the production server thanks Betsy
