Hi Henrik, I want to monitor my AIX client with locally configured monitoring parameters instead of server based parameters. This is required for my AIX servers running with different applications. We have different application mount points with different size and i want to set threshold values for mount points per server wise configured locally. I can see only three files under /xymon/etc folder in my AIX client ; hobbitclient.cfg clientlaunch.cfg localclient.cfg After adding --local in clientlaunch.cfg below parameter, the main web page stop to show any status of CPU,Disk and other monitoring part for this AIX client, [client] ENVFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/etc/hobbitclient.cfg CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/bin/hobbitclient.sh --local LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/hobbitclient.log INTERVAL 1m I added the host entry to hobbitclient.cfg and localclient.cfg, even its not showing any alert on server webpage for my AIX 5.2 client(axmnyz). HOST=<axmnyz> UP 1h LOAD 5.0 10.0 DISK * 60 65 MEMPHYS 100 101 MEMSWAP 50 80 MEMACT 90 97 Kindly assist me to know the files that need to change on Client and Server side to make it enable and effective. Hey everyone, I'm trying out the PS client again after using it 1-2 years ago and it causing too many problems. I'm hoping the impact on the clients will have been lessened since I tried it last. I have the PS client installed and configured, but I never show any connection to the xymon server while monitoring with tcpdump. Also, I never get any files created in the temp directory. This is an internal only server so iptables is off, Windows firewall is off, and I can successfully telnet from the client to the Xymon server port so there is nothing standing in the way. Message send via trends shows last_ds as UNKN.

With a simple script I’m trying to send message to Xymon using trends message. The RRD file get’s created with specified DS but the value for <last_ds> appears as UNKN. I have tried removing whitespaces and all but still no luck. Can anyone point what issue it could be ? This is what I have in script: /app/home/xymon/bin/xymon --debug smpapp-dt-a3s.net "data smpapp-dt-a1d.ula.net.trends [test.rrd] DS:XYZ:GAUGE:600:0:U 1323233 DS:ABC:GAUGE:600:U:U 12312312" -Prashant

Two servers from one agent

I've got a requirement to run an agent reporting to 2 separate servers. It's a BBWin agent and is actually on a server belonging to our partner company but because we support that particular system we need it to report to our Xymon server as well as theirs. We run all our agents in Central mode so I'm wondering what the implications of that are when sending to 2 servers like this. Will it just pick up the config files from the first server or will it pick both up?

xymonnet - fatal signal caught

Well, The "Task xymonnet terminated by signal 6?" append every five minutes. You should have a "delayred=dns:5" in the hosts.cfg. Perhaps combined with a downtime. I have had such a problem and it's now resolved like that. Regards Laurent Royer ?

Blue report for last month

Hi, I need to generate a report that shows all blue for last month with host/test/start-time/end-time Ideally this would be generated by running the Availability report and choosing all or maybe a new entry blue. I played around with running statusreport.cgi but it can't do history. It seems report.cgi takes away all blue. How can I generate a blue report for last month? - Roland

local mode client

One of my co-workers has installed xymon 4.3.7, and wants to use local mode for configuration. The display server is not receiving anything from his machine if things run normally, but when run by hand, xymon can send data from his server (Solaris) to the display server.
