Hi We're formatting a few status messages as HTML and we are using the perl HTML script from Andy France/Martin Ward/David Baldwin. Our mails kept getting truncated at around 4000 characters. After looking around in the source code (do_alert.c) I found out that the variable passed to the SCRIPT alert type is limited to 4096 characters. I increased the value to 12288 and recompiled the xymond_alert binary. After replacing it in our production system the script now receives the complete status message. Why can we configure the MAXMSG size for status messages but is the status truncated to 4KB? I'm wondering if there's any harm in upping the MAX_ALERTMSG_SCRIPTS value. Memory? Stabililty? FreeBSD pkgaudit xymon script

I hacked together a script to collect pkgaudit data with Xymon and potentially alert when one of your servers has vulnerable packages installed. It can also optionally run pkgaudit against all of your jails on the server in case you don't want to have a separate xymon-client in each jail. The jails can be filtered out with grep and by default ignore jails with "poudriere" in the name or path as those are short lived and would be false positives. I'm considering having it be installed by default with the net-mgmt/xymon-client port and I'm also unsure if I should enable it by default. The data output is simple and could probably be improved, but it seems to serve the purpose well enough. I've also thrown it on github so if anyone cares enough to tweak and tune it I'll certainly be interested in your changes. https://github.com/feld/xymon-ext-scripts/ Cheers!

displaying external content within xymon ?

Depends tag on external tests

Hi everyone, Does anyone know if the depends tag was ever moved out of the network code and into the core so it works for external tests?
