How to query all red systems ignoring nopropred hosts

Hi for creating an interface to another monitoring system I want to query the xymon server for a list of all currently red systems. I can do this with the xymon utility: xymon 127.0.0.1 "xymondboard color=RED" But this lists also hosts which have the nopropred tag set and I want to ignore these. The only way I found was querying the config for each red host and search for the tag myself. This can result in very much queries to the xymon server if there are currently much red states. Is there a nicer way to realize this? Maybe I have missed a filter option. Or maybe I can see the tag in some field supported by the xymondboard's output. Feature request -- additional info in "disabled" notification

Currently I get an email notification when a test is disabled. The subject is "Xymon host:test disabled [cfid:xxx]". I'm running 4.3.23 with the patch from 4.3.24 that fixes http response code parsing. It would be extremely helpful if this notification email included the basic auth username of the person who disabled the test, the reason that they entered, and the duration of the disable. Having the IP address of the computer that made the disable request would also be useful. Looking at the "X-Fordwarded-For" http header might be required. I have not delved into the source code for test disabling, so currently I have no idea how difficult this idea is to implement. If I find the time, I may look into the source code to see if I can implement it myself and contribute the change to the project. I would think this has been requested before, but using some simple searches, I could not locate a similar request in my own archive of this mailing list, which goes back to early 2011. Currently running xymon 4.3.17 and I see this message in the xymond test Under the "Latest error messages:" Config file hobbitserver.cfg not found Most for the time it comes out at :0:05:00. Not sure it's affecting anything, but thought I should mention it.

Question about hobbit-plugins (apt and libs)

Hi, I am new to XYmon (and happy to have found it) and I would like to see every icon in green :-). I have installed the hobbit-plugins on two linux servers (Ubuntu 14.04 *) and the 'apt' and 'libs' icons remains yellow. The details are as follow: - apt: 'Packages not installed from apt repositories' - libs: 'One of /proc/config.gz and /boot/config-3.13.0-76-generic was not found, cannot check kernel uptodateness' and 'The following processes have libs linked that were upgraded' (mysql) Is there a way to disable these particular checks ? For 'apt', it seems normal to me to install software from special repositories to get actual versions. For 'libs', the first "problem" is normal with Ubuntu (no '/proc/config.gz' file). I don't know what to think of the other one. It looks like 'mysql' has been compiled with libraries that have been or should have been updated. It seems you'd want this metric to be a GAUGE if it's going to be a floating value like that. HTH, -jc

Disable message and RECOVERY

Hi, I noticed that a disable message is not setting the RECOVERY option to 1 when triggering an alert script. >From xymonserver.cfg: OKCOLORS="green,blue,clear" And I also noticed that if you select multiple hosts and multiple services, only for 1 host the alert script is triggered for each service. Selecting 1 server or 1 service is working fine. Stef

So AFAIK the conn test is a ping; so it will give and idea of how network is working and also can reflect how the server is performing serving request. (Note aside: I feel that TCP connection times from a ping test can be misleading, I mean ping is icmp which people calls 3.5 layer (TCP/IP vs OSI layering) ). I know 0.02 seconds aren't the world falling; but I'm looking to give and answer that cover the pikes (I guest the metric report issues and average of the data that is plotted?). RAM is at 90% all time long; but since CPU utilization is too low; like LA I'm tempting to say that we need to drill down to the url that webcache (this is an Oracle WebCache; which works like a reverse proxy for "accelerating" webapps was serving since it may be the cause of the delay.
