Hi, I'm testing Xymon 4.3.27 to update from 4.3.18 for security issue, and find that one line in /var/log/message is dropped shown as"msgs". (Dropped line is seemed to be replaced with a string "<...CURRENT...>") --- how to reproduce this problem --- Write two messages from command prompt: $ logger test line 1 test line 2 ^D (EOF) /var/log/messages contains: Jun 14 13:33:10 myhost some previous messages... Jun 14 18:40:56 myhost root: test line 1 Jun 14 18:40:58 myhost root: test line 2 Xymon 4.3.27 shows following messages as "msgs": <...CURRENT...> Jun 14 18:40:58 smdtest root: test line 2 ----------------------------- I can set Xymon to ignore "<...CURRENT...>" using "analysis.cfg", but lost message line will not come back until another line is added to /var/log/messages. Attached patch for client/logfetch.c works fine for me. Please consider to apply it. Problems with Enable/Disable

Hi all. I have finally migrated across to our new CentOS 7 with Xymon 4.3.27-1.el7.terabithia and now have problems using Enable/Disable from the web interface. When I disable a test, the page returns as per usual but nothing is disabled. If I run the: xymon xymonserver.fqdn 'disable hostname.test 16871392s Disabled by: reason' command from the shell then it works fine. I can load the /xymon-seccgi/enadis.sh URL without errors and it shows the currently disable tests/hosts. There are no errors or messages relating to enadis in the apache or xymon log files. Short of installing a debug build of xymon is there some way I can further debug this issue? Thanks, JT

Adding a CSS style element to results?

Which of the many header files has the <head> section when clicking on a particular dot? For example, I want to use Google maps API (not just the URL, but the JavaScript stuff too) to display a map via a client "location" script, e.g. to track my laptop. The google maps API seems to require a CSS style in the <head> section (shouldn't conflict with anything else) - their example is below. So I need to be able to get that into there somehow. I don't think that would conflict with anything existing. Alternatively, if there's a separate stylesheet file that would be loaded, that would be great. Usually, my "location" column is clear (since it's not really a status in the usual sense), but it's not impossible that I might one day change that to be some other color, for instance if unable to obtain location, or if outside an expected area, or whatever. Issue with Diskstation client and persistent Purple condition

Josh, The server is on the same switch as the Diskstation. Yes I am using the Synology Monitoring Tool.The History file is saying the last report that was on May 19th the day I had the issue. Issue with Diskstation client and persistent Purple condition

I am having a an issue getting the Diskstation (syncology NAS) client reports to show on my xymon page. I had an issue on the DIskstation and had to do a scrub of the data. Since that date the client is not sending any reports to the xymon server. The connection test from the server to the Diskstation is working and I can ssh between the two units. The client is running on the Diskstation. I even upgraded the client to the latest version. I stopped the daemon and restarted it but still no reports. I have tried to remove the purple conditions just to get a base point but the reports from a month ago are still there. I restarted my xymon server and the apache server and still the purple exists. So are there any Diskstation users on the list that might be able to give me sme insight. Thanks in advance. -- John J. Boris, Sr.

winpsclient: what about "clientbbwinmembug" setting?

Hi all, Hi Zak. I had to set in xymonclient_config.xml <clientbbwinmembug>0</clientbbwinmembug> to avoid bad detecting of swap memory in windows server 2008 and 2012 Is this (undocumented) parameter, and the relative snippet of code, still needed? Windows disk I/O stats

Hi, I have been asked to provide disk I/O stats for a windows server, this currently has xymonclient.ps1 2.04 and the server OS is 2008 R2 SP1. I have provided similar in linux end-points using for instance diskstat.pl from Xymonton, but nothing similar seems to exist for Windows. I presume powershell could find this stuff but how expensive would it be to extract this? I dont want the agent to be affecting what we are supposed to be measuring. Has anyone else already been down this path or can they provide me an tips please? Thanks -- Andy

Server Side xymon tests are missing from web interface

Xymon Users, Having issues on both our prod and dev xymon systems. Dev issues are that the server side tests for conn, ntp and ssh are missing from the web page Prod issues are that selecting the icon for a specific host and test times out: Gateway Time-out The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application. [X] Please need assistance since our primary hobbit Meister is out on short term sick and is unavailable.
