Users & Acknowledging

Hello, We have a team that actively monitors xymon, but does not have administrative rights to the server. Because of this, they are unable to acknowledge alarms. Is there any way to allow normal users to acknowledge alarms? Because currently, only administrators can. Thank you, Foster

RRD Graph not working

Hello, I am attempting to make a custom graph work. I attempted following the directions here: http://xymon.sourceforge.net/xymon/help/howtograph.html Here is the page on xymon: [cid:image001.png at 01D2128F.1B7AED70] In xymonserver.cfg, I have TEST2RRD="cfengine=ncv" I also created a line in xymonserver.cfg that reads "NCV_cfengine="cfexecd:GAUGE" I restarted xymon after making these changes. I go on my xymon server and check /var/lib/xymon/rrd/redhat6-v01.....com/ for cfengine.rrd but it is never created. No data is being collected. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks, Foster

Custom alert mail with script

I fix the old problem, but here comes the new one. now I can use: * /home/xymon/RedAlert.sh me at mydomain.com <http://mydomain.com>* *to send a mail, but xymon alert still doesn't work. the new log is* *Paging script /home/xymon/RedAlert.sh terminated with status 2* * Send options without primary recipient specified. Usage: mail -eiIUdEFntBDNHRV~ -T FILE -u USER -h hops -r address -s SUBJECT -a FILE -q FILE -f FILE -A ACCOUNT -b USERS -c USERS -S OPTION users* Any suggestion?

get xymon data from api/ curl/ wget

Hi, Our development team is creating a dashboard where they show the overall status of the env and other components, for internal metrics of a host they want to pull the data from xymon server. Dashboard will have a cron with curl/ wget to fetch data from xymon server, eg. in case of cpu, xymon will need to return current load avg. and show status color, then accordingly the dashboard will update dashboard. Does xymon provide api's or can I get data through curl/ wget ? This dashboard will be similar to what http://status.aws.amazon.com/ has. Thanks, Deepak

Actually this may just be an Outlook setting issue. Works fine for me but not others. Probably the default html, plain text, rich text setting. Xymon WinPSclient central config examples

Hi, does anyone have any examples of monitoring logs and procs using Xymon WinPSclient that they can share with me? client-local.cfg and analysis.cfg Or tell me why this does not match anything when, excluding the %^ and $, this is what is displayed in the procs listing (names changed): PROC "%^SVC:WindowsServiceName C:\Services\MyLongServerName.exe$" 1 1 red "TEXT=My Service" This is returning red when the service is running - 0 instances found. Compiled latest Deb - Web only showing Index of files - Can't figure out what to symlink

I have compiled the latest deb files by hand and installed them, I even have a working server, but I am trying to replicate it, and I remember having a lot of trouble the first time around. No matter what I symlink to the webroot or what I make the webroot, I just get an index of files. I have tried making the webroot /var/www/ and /var/www/html. On my working server I have root at monitor:/var/www# ls -la | grep xymon lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Aug 23 12:29 xymon -> /usr/lib/xymon/server/ On my non working server : donut at xymon:/var/www$ ls -la | grep xymon lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Sep 13 21:53 xymon -> /usr/lib/xymo /server/ But I can't for the life of me get the webpage to render! donut at xymon:~$ sudo service xymon status [sudo] password for donut: Xymon (xymonlaunch) running with PID 1182 donut at xymon:~$ sudo service xymon-client status Xymon client does not appear to be running donut at xymon:~$ sudo service xymon-client start donut at xymon:~$ sudo service xymon-client status Xymon client does not appear to be running I always share what I learn!, Tho I havn't posted many of my custom scripts that are in my jira because I'm busy, but here are some of the stuff I've posted. https://www.freesoftwareservers.com/index.php/xymon-home-page/
