I just stumbled across this while browsing the RRDtool site. There's a fairly neat tool available for creating custom graphs from data in RRD files, which might be useful if you need to put together data collected by Hobbit. http://web.taranis.org/drraw/ Regards, Henrik

You can add a noconn or noping to one of your duplicate hosts. But make sure you don't have any additionnal test after the noconn or the message wil remain. ( I don't know how to show some tests on one page and other tests on another). Here is a sample from my bb-hosts : 1.2.3.4 server.domain # BBPAGER BBNET BBDISPLAY hobbitd test1 test2 etc. 0.0.0.0 server.domain # noconn I still use bb client for AIX test, but I'm waiting for the 4.1.2 to be released. Hobbit client reporting question

Greetings, I saw that the hobbit client reports back "who" information, and I was wondering what would have to be done to make it so that I could implement that reporting functionality server side. Even if it is not coded yet, just point me in the right direction and I will come up with something (this way I don't feel like a slacker and actually contribute back to hobbit) Thanks, Adam Scheblein Marquette University UNIX Systems Administrator

I was already running the latest snapshot, and I did finally solve my problem... I had 2 things wrong, the first one was that the line was on the bottom and not the top. Once I moved the DISK statement to the top of the list then it started to take effect after I corrected the second problem. My second problem was that for some reason it did not like warnlevel= and paniclevel= once I took those out it worked like a charm. That doesn't parse the hobbit-clients.cfg file correctly. Grab the latest snapshot from http://www.hswn.dk/beta/ and I'll bet it starts working for you. Hi, deadcat extension scripts work quite fine with hobbit client. the configuration is not the same (no bb-bbexttab anymore), but it works. So you can use the hobbit client with most deadcat extension scripts. Hobbit Chart & Time based monitoring

Thanks Guys, I would also love to know if Hobbit can display Pie chart based images/graph when reporting. I would love to incorporate this into my Hobbit NMS for better understanding of uptime & reporting. Also do you know how i could configure Hobbit to monitor devices between specific time of the day, thus reflecting this in its availiability report. I want to monitor some devices between mornings & evenings. I only want Hobbit to concern itself with this period & not bother about whether these devices are up or down after specified time has expired. Thanx once more.
