After further testing: eth0 primary = 192.168.2.56 eth0:0 primary = 192.168.2.55 eth0 secondary = 192.168.2.57 voip1.example.net = 192.168.2.55 When I changed this 192.168.2.56 voip1.example.com (eth0) but voip1 is actually TO 192.168.2.55 voip1.example.com (eth0:0) that is when I get the ghost reports which makes sense. Nothing to do with adding this part: 192.168.2.56 voip1-2.example.com (eth0 on primary) 192.168.2.57 voip1-3.example.com (eth0 on secondary) Well it was working HI!! Here is an except from my hosts.cfg EXAMPLE: 192.168.55.55 eth0:0 192.168.2.56 voip1.example.com (eth0) but voip1 is actually mapped on the DNS to eth0:0 I have xymon-client starting up /home/xymon/runclient.sh --hostname=voip1.example.com Up till now everything runs ok. (I have not tried a failover, as I just wanted to get it to work). Probably report as a ghost when it fails over. Hi, Is there a way to have the xymon client bind to a specific IP or interface? I have more than one interface on a machine and I am getting ghost reports because I setup xymon for eth0:0 instead of eth0. -- sysadm cronomagic.com/gemstelecom.com e-mail ve2cii at canasoft.net POWERED BY LINUX

It looks like an Apache problem. Check your Apache logs for errors that might give you hints. Avoid email storm

xymon is behind a firewall and lately firewall is dying a lot and at restore we are getting email storm about devices that are on other sites. firewall team will have a replacement "soon". In the meantime I guess I should add a depend (first hop) for all 2000+ devices in hosts.cfg file. Is there another option with less editing? Good day - Is there anyone on the list running a version newer than 4.3.8 on an HP-UX 11.31 platform? I'm seeing some odd behavior with forking, when starting up the channel handlers, and would like to compare notes. Thanks! -Lynn

libpcre issues with Apache / xymon

Hello Everyone, I was able to configure Xymon 4.3.8 on AIX 7.1. First time everything ran fine and i was able to access /xymon and /xymon-cgi/ paths via apache installed on same server. However, now i am encountering following error on trying to access cgi-bin path. Apache logs show following error - AH01215: Could not load program /home/xymon/server/bin/svcstatus.cgi:, referer: http://servername/xymon/ AH01215: \tDependent module /applications/apache/ 2.4.4.0//lib/libpcre.a(libpcre.so.1) could not be loaded., referer: http://servername/xymon/ AH01215: \tThe module has an invalid magic number., referer: http://servername/xymon/ End of script output before headers: svcstatus.sh, referer: http://servername/xymon/ Looks like cgi-bin scripts are trying to read libpcre.a instead of pcre installed during xymon [ usr/local/bin ]. I modified ~/server/etc/cgioptions.cfg and ~/server/etc/xymonserver.cfg to include following - LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" export LD_LIBRARY_PATH Any help or pointer much appreciated.
