Upgrade 4.3.4 to 4.3.17

Hi all, I've never done this before so I'd appreciate some guidance, I'm looking at upgrading our Xymon test system from 4.3.4 to 4.3.17 on Centos 5.6. Is there anything I need to worry about or should it be a straightforward process? Thanks, Neil.

Different Timeouts for different tests?

We have hosts that we want to have a short timeout for the tests. However, this doesn't work well with http tests because many web sites take longer to reply. We set the timeout to 1 second. We have started to get red statuses for http tests where the web site is working just fine, but a little slow. Is there any way to use separate timeouts for different tests? Also, the status of these sites is Red on the Main page or the AllNonGreen page, but if we drill down and look at the test for that host, it shows as green. I am interpreting this as the timeout causes the test to be given a status of red, but the site eventually responds, so the status for the host is green. This is a little confusing. Have you tried using FORMAT=SMS on alerts.cfg? There's probably a better solution to this problem. Hi, My boss didn't like the subject line of the default email alerts and he asked me to change it. I found a script online that does it -- so I modified the script and the subject line is doing what is expected but the body of the email is displaying some text that I would like not to be displayed. How can I remove the " red [965282] red  Wed Oct 1 10:46:24 2014 conn NOT ok Service conn on xxxxxxx.corp.local is not OK : Host does not respond to ping System unreachable for 20 poll periods (5386 seconds) &red 5.5.5.5 is unreachable ################################################### Is there anyway to remove that? Terminal Server (Citrix) User Session Monitoring

Hi folks Is there anybody who is able to tell me, whether it's still possible with Xymon to monitor and collect user sessions for Citrix Terminal Servers as it used to be possible in the golden age of Hobbit? I used to administrate Hobbit at my former employer and implemented user session monitoring back in 2009 with a tricky method based on the script termusers.pl which I got from this Xymon support community. However, I've changed my employer and now would like to implement Xymon more or less the same way as it was at my former employer for easy and simple monitoring & fast graphical reporting and I was wondering whether it's possible or not and whether there's anyone who could help me in this matter. SNMP roadmap

Hi All, I installed devmon and tried it and it really isn't what I am after, there aren't enough templates and I don't have enough time to build templates for everything I have, it also has no SNMP v3 support which I will need eventually. I found some threads that talk about integrating MRTG Graphs into Xymon but there isn't any clear instructions on how this works, there are also lots of references to a script called bbmrtg.pl that apparently allows you to alert on the MRTG data as well but I can't find this script anywhere. What is the roadmap for SNMP in xymon? Will this eventually be built into xymon in some way? Or are there any other alternatives out there that I can easily integrate into xymon. Brandon Dale

It's you. The "s*" in your regular expression matches zero or more "s" at that location.
