Hello all, I´ve started to use the xymonPSclient. The client is doing good in a windows 2008 server but I would like to choose which "agents" to run. I don´t want to run all client features. Is there a way to setup this? My other doubt is where to setup/config the services/procs to monitor? Thanks in advance, Mario.

Items per graph settings

Why do some graphs such as disk drive space have only 4 entries per graph while others like temperature lump all entries into one graph? I have machines with 10 or 15 drives and they graph with only 4 disks per graph. But I have devices with temperature and all 14 are lumped on one graph (very hard to read). Thanks Paul Jordan

That looks about right. You might want to just rename the old xymongen instead of overwriting it. That way you can revert back if the new edition doesn't work properly. Any alternatives to devmon?

Does anyone have an alternative to devmon? It's really old, doesn't seem to be being developed and the parsing of exemptions is flaky at best. issues with delayred

Hi All, I'm having issues getting delayred to work. I've been playing around with it for a while, to no avail. We're running 4.3.7 on ubuntu, and I have not been able to get it to recognize the delay. Any hints on what to look for? The entries below are what we have. ntpstat.rrd creation

Hi all, Anyone know for sure whether ntpstat.rrd creation is built in, or does it require an external server script? It appears that xymond/do_rrd.c sets up a call in update_rrd() to do_ntpstat_rrd() when ldef->xymonrrdname or the testname that is passed in matches 'ntpstat'. I could be totally misunderstanding what's going on as I've just done a cursory search of the source and haven't had a chance to trace it all the way through. I've got my configuration set up like the demo server, with 'time=ntpstat' and 'ntp=ntpstat' entries for TEST2RRD. For the ntp servers i'm monitoring, I'm getting ntpdate output in the 'ntp' status column, but no rrd creation. I've restarted xymon, going as far as adding, then removing '--debug' and '--no-cache' for rrdstatus and rrddata in tasks.cfg (a workaround for an existing issue with rrd updates that may or may not be related to this). We're running 4.3.7 currently. I'll keep plugging away at the source if no one has a quick and easy answer. Hey. I have taken over zymon in my department recently and am just getting used to it. Sorry if this is a repeat question, but everything I'm finding is for hobbit not xymon and it seems to be quite different. I wrote a script that outputs the result to a file. Im trying to have xymon alert based on certain phrases in the file. So on our main server page we have all of the ping imap etc. We have a msgs column that is looking at system files. Do you know where in the file structure this setting is located? I cannot find where this is set so i can change it from the system files to the look at the right file. Also, if someone has an example of what the syntax that i would put into that file to have it search that file, that would be amazing. Lastly, do i need to do this on each client machine, or can it be done once on the server? thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it.
