Hi all, Before I start looking at potentially re-inventing the wheel, does anyone have a BBWin external script for monitoring Disk IO and paging on a Windows server that they would be willing to share? availability legend on 1st page of an availability report

Greetings all. Is there a way to put a legend on the 1st page of an availability report. What I mean by legend is: [green diamond] 100% available [orange “!”] 97% and above [red “x”] less than97% [white circle] no stats for period I’m at a loss and any help would be appreciated. -Marty

Hey, So I have xymon setup to email us when the cpu usage of a machine gets too high for an extended period of time. It sends the top 50 processes in an email. Right now, it is sending them in ascending order by process id. This is not super helpful because then I have to parse through to find which is taking the most cpu %. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get the email to be sorted by the cpu% instead of the proc id? Thanks! David B

I'm sorry, that was my fault. I've got multiple servers that are each monitoring multiple URL's, and I'm seeing different behavior on different servers, just to make life complicated. All of the servers have two or three URL's monitored. Some of the time, http goes yellow and then goes red after 10 minutes, when one URL out of three is unreachable Most of the time, though, http is just going yellow and staying yellow when one URL out of three is unreachable. I claim http shouldn't go yellow **at all**. But I would like a clear definition of how it's supposed to behave. The URL's that are failing are Cold Fusion URL's and appear in the history log as , for example: red http://host.example.com/monitor/monitor.cfm - Server timeout Seconds: 22.01

I have this default set: 0.0.0.0 .default. # DOWNTIME=0:0000:0300 delayred=http:10 and servers that are monitoring three URL's like so: 10.1.2.3 web1.example.com # CLASS:webzone ssh apache http://web1.example.com/url1.htm http://web1.example.com/url2.cfm http://web1.example.com/url3.cfm What I'm seeing is, with one URL going red with a timeout after 22 seconds, the http test is going YELLOW and then going RED ten minutes later. Does delayred turn the test yellow? If not, why is this test turning yellow? We want it to be RED. What exactly determines whether an http test is red or yellow? thanks Betsy

Not having received one reply on this question I am resending: Hi Everyone, In trying to resolve a trends graph issue it was stated to "set the XYMWEBHIKEY" variable. I haven't been able to find documentation on what and where this is set at. I tried to set it to TRUE in xymonserver.cfg but that doesn't seem to do anything. If anyone could expand on what was meant by setting this value that would be great. xymonnet version 4.3.7 Shows red. New-ish install. Has been red all along. Found this on the page details: "Error output: Execution of '/usr/sbin/fping -Ae' failed - program not suid root? This program can only be run by root, or it must be setuid root." I find fping in /usr/sbin. It works logged in as root if I specify a host name or IP, even a bogus one (for latter, it reports "address not found". However, if I do not specify a host (just do "fping") it appears to hang. I did not wait for hours, just a couple of minutes. But that is not likely the cause, because if I say su - xymon -c "/usr/sbin/fping -Ae something" I get" "This program can only be run by root, or it must be setuid root." Have I missed a step in setting up? Or am I still sleeping? joe a.
