Hi all: I have a windows PC with 42" LCD monitor... for Xymon webpage display. A firefox browser show a pertinent webpage but I want that I case of alarm this machine make Noise (as complement to the visuals). So far I have found http://freshmeat.net/projects/xymon-alert Does anybody know another option that runs on windows (maybe written on java?)) Thanks and sorry If this is off-topic! my bbwin messup from local 2 central 2 local.

Hi all: As I briefly state at subject line. A windows client was changed (BBWin) from local to central (after syscheck left to work; including using mstasks) I decide to change it to central. So after that don't update data just conn and info... I hace uninstall bbwin, install it again. Uninstall and deleted registry keys and install it but the problem persists... Any idea how to fix this issue/recommendation? Thanks ! wierd things after group-excep /group-only....

Hi all: trying to make my config (xymon 4.2.3) 'fool proof" and acomplish a split view; where Henrik kindly offer advise I have bb-hosts with group-except files|procs|ports <ip> name # comment "some tests" and group-only files|procs|ports 0.0.0.0 name # comment noconn (remove tests after Henrik advise). My problem was that most of the hosts only show 4 columns (conn info ssh trends) the rest of columns not appear. The only way that appear the rest-of them is from windows clients who never were monitored. After trying differents settings.. I give up and modify the config to group-sort <ip> name # comment "some tests" group-only files|procs|ports 0.0.0.0 name # comment noconn (remove tests after Henrik advise). And group <ip> name # comment "some tests" group 0.0.0.0 name # comment noconn (remove tests after Henrik advise). But stiil just 4 columms except from new/fresh install windows clients. So shutdown the xymon-server delete rrd and web pages and start deamon with same results. Why this happened and how to fix it... any idea wellcome... (yepa I have thinking in fresh compile and install o complete upgrade to 4.3.X) Thanks! Trending too many interfaces - see regex

Colin, I've not had the time, desire or opportunity to play with any of the newish RedHat releases and associated gizmos. This said, I accept that your 'ifconfig rhevm' returns data in the same format as 'ifconfig eth0'. Most linux interface names end with some number, or are called 'lo'. 'rhevm' does not seem to follow that norm. I suspect trending of rhevm might be failing for this reason. In xymon-4.3.2/xymond/rrd/do_ifstat.c on line 22 we see the following regex: ^([a-z]+[0123456789.:]+|lo) Remove the localhost part and it looks like this: ^([a-z]+[0123456789.:]+) Expand that and we have: ^rhevm+[0-9.:]+ To me, that looks like rhevm by itself is not a match. Folks who actually write the code / have a clue about GNU C regex / can probably address this better than I. configure fails at RRD link

Installed RRD 1.4.5 with all prereqs on HPUX 11.31 RRD examples (in /usr/local/rrdtool/share/rrdtool/examples) all worked great to verify RRD install This being HP-UX, you'll also want to know the LD_LIBRARY_PATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/lib/hpux32:/usr/lib:/usr/local/rrdtool/lib and yes, using gmake and gcc However, when I start the xymon configure.server script, I get the following error: Checking for RRDtool ... test-rrd.c: In function 'main': test-rrd.c:30: error: too few arguments to function 'rrd_graph' gmake: *** [test-compile] Error 1 Not RRDtool 1.0.x, checking for 1.2.x Found RRDtool include files in /usr/local/rrdtool/include ERROR: RRDtool library files found in /usr/local/rrdtool/lib, but link fails. The error comes from xymon-4.3.2/build/Makefile.test-rrd test-link: @$(CC) $(CFLAGS) $(RRDDEF) $(RRDLIB) -o test-rrd test-rrd.o -lrrd $(PNGLIB) Any thoughts on how to determine more specifically why the link fails?

Recovery mail not coming from few days

Hi, i am not getting any recovery mail from last 3-4 days for the server memory. It consumes more memory for 1 hour daily so mail comes for memory red and then memory green (recovered). but now i dont get any memory recovered mail from last 3-4 days. i have not changed any confg. xymon-4.2.2. rhel 5.2 thanks akshar

Monitoring FILES and adressing them seperate

Hi, I have 6 file-checks on 1 server similar to this: FILE /nfs/backup/file1 red MTIME<7200 - is there ANY way to address each of these checks individually? So I can compare them and see if 2 or more is triggered? I only want to send alerts to our night-team if more of the checks trigger at the same time - any clue to how to script that? /melgaard

TS - Disk alert percentages for Linux

I have Xymon running on CentOS 5.x. I need to bump up the DISK YELLOW RED percentages for the Xymon system only. I tried to edit the /home/xymon/client/etc/localclient.cfg file and changed the DEFAULT DISK to: DISK * 92 96 I believe this does it for ALL reporting clients? Not sure? Or is this the settings for JUST THIS CLIENT? Do I need to add some code above the DEFAULT with HOST=monitorp.csw.l-3co.com? Not sure where the correct place is to do it?
