xymond crashing for unknown reasons

Hi all, I've got the following problem: I used to run Xymon 4.2.3 on FreeBSD (using the ports collection) and it worked fine. However, when I upgraded to 4.3.2, I got all sorts of weird behaviour, so I decided to start from scratch. So I uninstalled Xymon, deleted everyting related to it and then installed a fresh copy of Xymon 4.3.2 (also via the port-collection) The installation goes fine, but when I start it up, the html files aren't generated. I've started up xymon several times and sometimes I see other 'old' hostnames in the output file of xymond.core It appears that I didn't completely remove all traces of the old installation after all... Acknowledge issue continues with xymon 4.3.2

I have xymon 4.3.2 installed now Every 4 days, almost exactly, I start losing the ability to acknowledge some alerts. As time progresses, it gets worse and worse – at first it's random, some can be acknowledged, some can't Then, more and more can not be acknowledged New alerts, Existing alerts that were already acknowledged, it doesn't matter This is a fairly impacting issue, and others on the list have said they have this same problem All I have is that find_cookie in lib/rbt.c is not finding the cookie, despite it being visible in the hobbitdboard 2011-04-05 05:23:09 Cookie 115771 not found, dropping ack 2011-04-05 05:23:09 Cookie 54483 not found, dropping ack 2011-04-05 05:23:09 Cookie 47469 not found, dropping ack 2011-04-05 06:38:55 Cookie 86204 not found, dropping ack 2011-04-05 06:41:37 Cookie 86204 not found, dropping ack This is what my logs start filling up with. Can anyone on this list point me to at least some starting point to try and solve this? It is odd that those rrd directories are not world readable, but anyway run configure and make as root. The rrd.sh already has /usr/local/rrdtool* - that is enough, you don't need to modify the file at all. Hi All, rrd and pcre both i compiled(./configure, make and make install) successfully. Anyway today once i re-compile xymon(xymon-4.2.3) again (like ./configure, make and make install) there after "GRAPH" is showing fine in the xymon page. Now new problem is: "If i connect agent to the collector server then agent side column(like conn, disk, .... etc.) graph is not displaying in xymon page. When selecting any server parameter in the GUI that would result in a graph being shown, the graph does not render, and the apache error log shows: /usr/lib/hpux32/dld.so: Unable to find library 'libz.so'. Premature end of script headers: showgraph.sh, referer: http://rex07/xymon-cgi/svcstatus.sh?HOST=rxsap100&SERVICE=disk Looks like there's still some niggling issue with zlib. The file does exist, permissions ok to read it... just somehow not being found during the rendering phase. TS - Disabled and cannot Enable it

I have printer: Printer143 It is disabled and was done so using the command: $BB $BBDISP "disable ${HOST}.* -1 offline" to allow a 'ping' to enable it It is BLUE and querying it shows that it is BLUE: /home/xymon/server/bin/bb 127.0.0.1 "query Printer142.conn" blue  Wed Apr 6 10:58:39 2011 conn ok If you go to the 'conn' web page for Printer142, it shows: BLUE boarder and BLUE ICON but under history, it shows: GREEN diamond IP-of-Printer is alive (0.57 ms) The device answers a 'ping'. I when into ADMINISTATION: Enable/Disable and enabled the Printer. There are no devices left to Enable. I stopped and restarted Xymon also. I tried to 'enable' the Printer with: /home/xymon/server/bin/bb 127.0.0.1 "enable Printer142.conn" Multiple times But the device still shows BLUE/DISABLED. I am running Xymon 4.3.0-0.beta2 and have been for over a year and have not experienced this problem. I monitor multiple printers in multiple buildings and this is happening to 14 out of 28 Printers. sslcert test frequency

Is there a way to limit the number of times a test runs for an sslcert check? The results of the tests are measured in days and there is no point in testing this really every 5 minutes. Hello And thank you all very much in advance for taking the time to read it :) I have XYMON 4.2.3 on Fedora 10 - its a vmware virtual machine. XYMON is in /usr/lib/xymonuser/server I get these kind of emails "Hobbit [232357] HOSTNAME:conn stopped reporting (PURPLE)" For a 2nd day now. I cannot determine a pattern and frequency yet, nor time-wise nor hostname-wise What happened? - I ran out of space. And then it turns out I ran out of inodes. What I did: 1. cd /var/log/ tar -zcvf xymon_logs_2011-april.tar.gz xymon cd xymon I deleted *.log files 2. I deleted the largest messages log file from Fedora, it was 2.1 GB. 3. inodes, full, df -i In my case: The directory /usr/lib/xymonuser/data/histlogs/ keeps huge amount of historical data about each hobbit client. I made tar.gz of everything in histlogs. I then did rm -rf for everything inside histlogs. Now 66% of inodes are free and I have ~6GB free disk space. All works fine except that I get "conn stopped reporting (PURPLE)". 4. To resolve "conn stopped reporting (PURPLE)" a. Stopped xymon b. Backup of "/usr/lib/xymonuser/server/tmp/" c. Delete all in "/usr/lib/xymonuser/server/tmp/" d. Restart fedora 10 f. Start xymon. Works all ok. d. I still get the emails :( I searched Internet and didnt anything else, apart from this: http://lists.xymon.com/archive/2008-February/017868.html - there are few posts like these, I am not sure how this is relevant to my case. sendmail queue is empty. Maybe all these messages are being generated because for a while it was not working, between steps 2 and 3 - I didnt figure out immediately that I am out of inodes.
