client on a sever config?

???? I have a server running xymon-4.3.28.? For the clients that send data to this machine I have a number of plugins configured on the client machines in the ext directory and configured in the etc/clientlaunch.cfg file.? Can someone tell me how to configure the server to add plugins the same way. Or is it not done this way. I see no clientlaunch.cfg file. Is there any way to "bump" Windows PS client to report immediately?

Getting tired of waiting for a green CPU report (not an uptime issue) on a VM, when I can see on the _host_ that it shouldn't be red. (How) can I persuade it to report now, vs waiting until whenever? That is, something similar in effect to running xymoncmd xymonclient.sh manually (or any client-side ext scripts) as the xymon account on a Unix/Linux client.

Increasing --ping-tasks makes TCP Connection Times more plausible

Hi List, I experienced a bit strange behavior with xymonnet. I wondered for a long time about the high (and place uncorrelated) values in the "TCP Connections Times" graph. peer1.sara.ams (which is about 600km away from our xymon-Server) had the same 40ms (sometimes even only 20ms) as core1.sm.tu.da (which is 2 racks 3 devices away). Last week I played with the ping-task parameter on the xymonnet Commandline in tasks.cfg. And this changed the value for core1.sm.tu.da from 40ms to 761,4?s, which ist much more like the Ping RTT. Apache ignoring .htaccess

I followed the instructions in the xymon virtual host config file for enabling htaccess an apache is ignoring it and serving up the pages without requiring a username and passwd. Any ideas and thank you in advance. -Trever

I now have Xymon built and running.? But I am unable to view the web interface.? I copied the xymon apache config file to /etc/conf.d directory and have confirmed that permissions are set to allow apache all the way in.? Howto authorized * customer01 to go only to xymon/CLIENTS/customer01 * customer02 to go only to xymon/CLIENTS/customer02 * customer03 to go only to xymon/CLIENTS/customer03 ... * and me (admin) to go everywhere ? Of course customer can't use * "views" menu * "reports" menu * "administration" menu ==> except if i can limit for each CLIENT/customer i have a look to xymongen ... by i'm not undersdant how to use it to limit only CLIENTS/customerXX i heard about xymonproxy, but i'm sure to understand how to use it for my use. -- Cordialement, Gr?gory

OpenSSL and OpenLDAP

I have been fighting this thing all night.? Trying to install xymon on Centos 7 inside of virtualbox.? openldap complains about openssl and openssl does not make it past the configure script. Keeps getting this: Checking for OpenSSL ... Compiling with SSL library works OK /bin/ld: cannot find -ltirpc collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [test-link] Error 1 Warning: Cannot link with SSL library OpenSSL include- or library-files not found. Although you can use Xymon without OpenSSL, you will not be able to run network tests of SSL-enabled services, e.g. https. So installing OpenSSL is recommended. OpenSSL can be found at http://www.openssl.org/ If you have OpenSSL installed, use the "--sslinclude DIR" and "--ssllib DIR" options to configure to specify where they are. Continuing with SSL support disabled. I have tried to use the packages from yum and tried to build them from scratch and nothing seems to work.? Any ideas?

Xymon script for linux

Hello, the script xymonclient-linux.sh is using commands like ifconfig, netstat, etc. These commands are marked as depreciated and some of the Linux distributions have removed them already. For example SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 has no support for netstat and ifconfig. The replacement are commands from iproute2 package like ip, ss, routel, etc. Are there any plan to replace depreciated commands with new ones? BR, Zdenek Tlusty
