Hi all, I am having trouble monitoring clamAV. As in the docs, I put "clamd" in the bb-hosts file for my monitored host but I get the following result: Service clamd on server.domain.com is not OK : Service unavailable (No route to host) The server is reachable so there really IS a route to the host. any ideas? kh ----------------------------------------- Note: The information contained in this e-mail and in any attachments is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. Service SMTP on xxxxxx is not OK : Unexpected service response

I have a smtp server that "randomly" shows this error. Is it possible to capture what the actual response was? Eg. Service SMTP on xxxxxx is not OK : Unexpected service response Response received was:" blah blah" Craig

Wildcards in hobbit-clients.cfg

Hello, We have archive logs that get attached as external storage. These filesystems get filled causing alerts. We would like to disable them. I normally set the thresholds to 101 & 102 in the hobbit-clients.cfg file to ignore alerts on these types of filesystems. However, the problem is that these are mounted with diffrenet names. Example: disk_archive_Sep08, disk_arch_Oct08 Is there a way to use Wildcards in hobbit-clients.cfg? DISK disk_archive_????? 101 102 Thanks.....James

NOTICE in scripts

If possible, it would be nice if there was an indication in scripts for NOTICE messages like there is for RECOVERED... if we could test for NOTICE=1 that would be handy. Thanks, Jon

Connecting to passive (out of network) clients - TZ data

Almost all of my local clients use the local time zone to set their clocks. I do have a machine I'd like to add on another network segment that uses UTC for it's time zone - so it's clock is significantly different from all the other systems. Is this going to have unexpected consequences? I was just noticing that when I was looking at (hobbithome)/hobbit/client/tmp - not as many files there as I expected to see, and the time/date stamp is very different than my other out of network client. Cookie 35172 not found, dropping ack

Hobbit 4.2.0+allinone, CentOS 4.6 on x86_64... I have users reporting that randomly, the hobbitd status on our server is going yellow with the 'dropping ack' message. A user just reported to me that this happened about one hour after he had acknowledged a yellow alert status. Anyone have any experience troubleshooting where these come from? I suspect it may be another 64-bit issue, but am not yet sure. Is the cookies for alerts logged or recorded anywhere? Thanks for any advice. -Alan

Henrik, I don't know if you are still maintaining the 4.2.0 version, but I have stumbled across a mistype in the hobbitcgi.cfg file that gets created. #hobbit-ghosts.cgi options CGI_GHOSTS_OPT="--env=/usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg" However, in the hobbit-ghosts.sh file you call it differently. more hobbit-ghosts.sh #!/bin/sh # This is the Hobbit wrapper for the ghosts CGI . /opt/tools/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitcgi.cfg exec /usr/local/hobbit/server/bin/hobbit-ghosts.cgi --env=/usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg $CGI_GHOSTS_OPTS You have dropped the S off the end of the variable $CGI_GHOSTS_OPTS. Hobbit - Alert

Hi, I would like to monitor HP servers for EMS alerts, and i have added the below entry in hobbit-clients.cfg. CLASS=hp-ux LOG /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log %EMS COLOR=yellow LOG /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log vmunix COLOR=yellow IGNORE=vx_nospace A similar entry is also there in client-local.cfg file as well as listed below. [hp-ux] log:/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log:102400 Is there anything that i have missed, as i do not receive an alert? Any suggestion at the earliest would be really really helpful, thanks in advance. Metrics Report -- Time Column?
