Hello, Could you please tell me which part of the code of the futur 4.3 release of Hobbit performs the notification log analysis? Please also let me know if it is independent from all the other new features of that release. I am very enthusiast about that feature and I would like to test and if it works according to my desire put into production. [hobbit] http timeout and content checking

I'm having a little problem converting some Sitescope web page checks into Hobbit content checks. In particular, I have several URLs of the form: https://some.machine.name:9212/monitoring/MonitorControlServlet?monitorName… (names changed to protect the innocent) The problem is, I can go to that URL manually, and it will show up fine...after about 20 seconds or so. The URL is slow to respond, because it is running a back-end check, and that check simply takes a while to complete. The result is that Hobbit is coming back saying that the website failed to respond after 10.x seconds, even though it would be fine if I waited another 10 seconds or so. I would like to be able to increase the timeout, but only for URLs similar to above that are expected to take a while to respond. I don't want to increase this timeout across the board, since only a subset of all of the URL monitoring I am doing take so long to respond. Is there any way to do this? ----- Also on a related, though different note, are a few other tests that I can't get the "content" column to show up. These URLs are of the form: https://username:password at some.machine.name:9212/monitoring/MonitorControlServlet?monitorName=com.company.common.util.monitoring.URLMonitor&url=https://some.machine.name:9212/LBListener/MessageReceiver&fullDisplay=true&isPost=true&ABCAction=AccountInfoRequest&ABCService=MemberManagement&payload=<request:AccountInfoRQ xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:request=" com.company.accountrequest"><AccountInfo AccountCardNumber="4264292967999999" PortfolioID="177" SecurityInfo="true"/></request:AccountInfoRQ> (names changed to protect the innocent) The http check is working fine, but it seems like hobbit is ignoring the fact that I have it set up as a content check. The bb-hosts line for this test looks like: 1.2.3.4 test-name # DESC:"Test description" noconn nosslcert cont;<URL above>;Success badhttp:1:2:3 I also just noticed that for these tests, bbtest is complaining "content-check, but no content-data in <bb-hosts line above>". However, if I manually go to the URL in a browser, it does indeed return "content-data", and it returns in a timely fashion (about 2 or 3 seconds). Any ideas?

Availability Report not working

The Availability Report on the web just stopped working. It created the directory in the "rep", but nothing goes inside it. The webpage redirects to the correct location, but it's empty. Any ideas on what to look for? Nothing I can see in any of the logs indicates a problem.. Is there any "debug" that can be turned on to figure out why it's not working now? Not sure how long it's been this way, but it has the problem when it try to generate it on the web, it appears to be able to generate it via our daily script, just not via the web anymore. Duration of bbdisplay

Hi Guys! Happy new year to all. Regarding the hobbit-alerts.cfg, it is possible to delay the sending of the email alerts using the DURATION option. Is it also possible to do it with the bbdisplay? I mean, can I also set time duration with the test service before it changes its colors? For example, LOAD 5.0 10.0 If the average cpu load reaches 5.0 it will first wait for the specified time duration before it turns its color to yellow. Otherwise, it will stay with green. Hello and happy new year to all, I have the hobbit client running on the hobbit server. I have tried to adjust settings on the client but it does not seem to make a difference. Here is what I have set. In localclient.cfg: UP 1h LOAD 5.0 10.0 DISK / 96 98 DISK /boot 25 40 MEMPHYS 100 101 MEMSWAP 65 80 MEMACT 95 98 In clientlaunch.cfg: [client] ENVFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/etc/hobbitclient.cfg CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/bin/hobbitclient.sh --local LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/hobbitclient.log INTERVAL 1m This appears to be getting ignored. The root mount point (/) is at 94% and is showing yellow. What did I miss? thanks much kevin

I've been looking at the rrd manual, and it looks like I should be able to use a VDEF command to tell the graph to only plot values above a certain percentage. Here's my iostat rrdgraph description below. Any help would be appreciated. I want to tell it to graph iostat values only when the exceed 5% as an example. I have an iostat2 test that runs and graphs wait & busy times of nfs mounts and disk mounts. However, I have a lot of nan's in the data due to the nfs mount or disk mount has no wait or busy times. Is there a way when you display the graph to tell it not to show any data with nan? It lists every partition with the "NaN" values. I only want to see the data that has values. James

Display XML content check results

Is there a flag to have the content displayed on the hobbit page for an http content check? The content is XML, and doesn't show anything unless the page source is shown. Perhaps a way to add <pre> and </pre> to the output? Thanks. Lee.
