Well...when i just call /devmon without anything it won't start. But with perl /devmon it run but nothing happens. How do i configure Demon properly and run the daemon? Have you started devmon itself ? The devmon --readbbhosts is just there to update the "database" of hosts to poll. As far as I remember, a sample init script is provided in the source tarball, you can use that to start devmon. moved server, the server itself is not reporting?

I recently moved the hobbit server from one box to another. I changed DNS entries, firewall entries, etc., and now today everything except one box is reporting. The new hobbit server itself is not report its own status. I start the hobbit server with: # su - hobbit $ ~/current/server/hobbit.sh start The daemon does start, things updating, etc., just not the server box itself. In /var/log/hobbit/hobbitclient.log I have lots of messages: ... 2007-12-20 09:04:00 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - Connection failed 2007-12-20 09:09:01 Could not connect to bbd at 10.1.2.89:1984 - Connection refused 2007-12-20 09:09:01 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - Connection failed 2007-12-20 09:14:02 Could not connect to bbd at 10.1.2.89:1984 - Connection refused 2007-12-20 09:14:02 Whoops ! bb failed to send message - Connection failed 2007-12-20 09:19:03 Could not connect to bbd at 10.1.2.89:1984 - Connection refused ... Looks like the client daemon did not start. What more do I need to add starting the server to start the client? Ideas? Mike

Multiple graphs on single monitor page

Is this possible? More information. I've installed this monitor (http://www.trantor.org/theshire/doku.php/monitors:mpstat) for tracking usage on individual processors in a multiprocessor system and it is running/collecting data and updating the rrd files. I now want to have the 4 graphs that are defined/generated on the single page when you click on the 'mpstat' link for the individual node. The documentation on the page above says to update the bb-hosts entry with: # mpstat:mpstatusr|mpstatsys|mpstatwt|mpstatidl I did that and didn't see any graphs at all. The four entries following the mpstat: are the names of the graph definitions in hobbitgraph.cfg. What I've done to get something working was to add entries in the hobbitserver.cfg for the TEST2RRD and GRAPHS definitions. It seems that only one 'mpstat=mpstatxxx' definition will display on the monitor page even if I add the others. There also seems to be some tie that I'm not grokking where I have to put matching 'mpstat' and 'mpstatxxx' entries in the GRAPHS definition to get the graph to show on the monitor page which doesn't seem to follow the documentation in the .cfg file. However it is done, can I get to the point of having the four graphs displayed on the single monitor page? Has anyone else done this? I'm tired of pulling my hair out. Thanks in advance, Ron.
