Hi ! I've got a problem with or don't understand the cpu-test ... We've delete many data on the netapps, and if we do an syststat -m local on the machnies we could see ANY AVG CPU0 CPU1 CPU2 CPU3 93% 27% 2% 16% 0% 91% 97% 31% 2% 31% 0% 92% 89% 28% 2% 23% 0% 86% 61% 20% 3% 24% 0% 54% 53% 17% 2% 20% 0% 45% 93% 28% 2% 16% 0% 92% but with the cpu-test we can see Fri Nov 23 13:48:07 2007 up 134 days, 23:56 CPU Usage= 15% System clock is 0 seconds off Detailed CPU Summary Total = 46% Avg. = 15% CPU0 = 2% CPU1 = 17% CPU2 = 0% CPU3 = 39% Ok, of course the time-interval is problem, the default local on the machine is 15 sec and for netapp.pl 5 minutes ... So, my Question is there a possibilty to make a graph for each of the cpu's ? and which is best/optimize frequency to detect this cpu-usage ? or can we have a graph for Average and Actual (maybe ANY ?) I have it working now. The dev box helped me prove that the server needs Manage the config files "as you had said" for thresholds for AIX. I just need to move that to production. Thanks for all you help. You pointed me in the right direction. Testing server side vs. client side management. email alert oddity

Hello all, Here's a mystery for you. We have an alert rule set up to alert a group of recipients of a "red" condition and, when the condition is relieved, to send a "recovered" email. a couple of days ago we noticed that we received the initial "red" email but no recovered email. alert and recovery emails went out for this exact same test before and after this one incident. We looked in notifications log in /var/log/hobbit and didn't even see that an alert email was attempted. Also, shortly after the "red" alert was issued, the test timed out and went purple. Although this is not unusual, I believe we usually get a "recovered" email when it recovers from a "purple" condition as well. Again, it doesn't appear to be a problem any longer, but it's bugging me that we can't figure out what caused this problem. Any ideas where to look for clues? HTTP 404 not found

Hi all, I have just reloaded another server with Hobbit on Fedora 7. Firewall and selinux have been diabled. Hobbit owns the rights of all the files in the /home/hobbit dir And the default path is set to /var/www/cgi-bin. I still get the error http 404 not found.. Please can u help

HI, When I install hobbit client I have chosen client side client configuration am trying to monitor ordinary files, log files and process. I have edited localclient.cfg in the client side and added following entries before Default LOG %.* WARNING COLOR=yellow LOG %/var/(adm|log)/messages %(I/O|read).error COLOR=red PROC cron But I did not see anyupdates on the frontend gui.when I click on the msg or files I can see only client does not report any data error message. Hi all, After installation of Hobbit, the bbtest is still on yellow. Probably has something to do with the "LDAP" option I selected to be on at installation. How can I overcome this ?

Here's the situation. I have one hobbit server running on a DMZ'ed machine, and another hobbit server running on the internal network (the protected side of the DMZ). The general policy is to not allow any DMZ host to initiate connections to the internal servers (security policy and all). However, I would like to have a summary of the DMZ hobbit server to be displayed on the internal hobbit server. According to the bb-hosts man page, the "summary" command pushes data to the upstream server--in this case, it would be my internal hobbit server. Is there a way for the upstream server to pull the data instead (i.e. the internal "upstream" server pull from the DMZ'ed hobbit server)? If not currently, are there plans to add this feature to a future release of Hobbit?

I'm not sure if it's different for AIX than unix (I don't imagine it would be), but you can check the clientlaunch.cfg file. Look for the [client] section, and if the line that looks like "CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/bin/hobbitclient.sh" doesn't have "--local" appended to it, than it is using the server-side config files. Add --local and restart the hobbit client to switch to using the client-side config file.
