Hello all, I have a question concerning the alert management in Hobbit. The thing is that I do not want to manage the day-to-day needed changes on the configuration file when I must change the recipient of alerts for various reason (in vacation, not at the desk, ...). Do any of you use any other system to manage the alert rules? Something more like another program which receive Hobbit alert and then forward then to the dedicated person? Page-based configuration in hobbitclient.cfg

Hi all, I'm currently migrating our monitoring from BB to hobbit, and I'd like to use the page-based selection in hobbit-client.cfg to specify different tests for servers on different pages. So, I've setup a couple of pages in bb-hosts which are already shown on my startpage (no subpages etc.), and now, I added the following to my hobbit-client.cfg: PAGE=bsi PROC proftpd PORT LOCAL=%[.:]21$ STATE=LISTEN "TEXT=ftp" So, I expected that servers on the "bsi" page should be checked for proftpd, right? Well, this does not work at all, and a "bin/bbcmd hobbitd_client --dump-config" gives me the follwoing lines among others: PROC proftpd 1 -1 red HOST=bsi (line: 372) PORT local=%[.:]21$ state=LISTEN min=1 color=red HOST=bsi TEXT=ftp (line: 373) I would expect to see PAGE=bsi instead of HOST=...?! Q: solaris 10 vmstat no graph

Hi, We have Solaris 10, and Hobbit is not generating graph for vmstat. I notice that the vmstat output does not have IO-Wait, but iostat output does. Can I substitue vmstat with iostat in hobbitclient-sunos.sh? Q: server name change

Hi, We have changed the name of a server (/etc/hosts), and all seem to be running fine (uname, hostname, etc display new server name). However, when I look at the hobbit processes, they still have the old server name it them. Where should I look at check that the name has been updated properly? Minor bug in the current snapshot

Qualify your path to the file location and you should be fine. I am running hobbit server 4.2.0. My email pages are working fine but I cannot get my custom script to parse the BBALPHAMSG file to send a page to our system pager. In the /var/log/hobbit/page.log file I see the following entries: awk: cmd. line:2: fatal: cannot open file `server1.disk' for reading (No such file or directory) I can manually send pages to the system pager but when I try to parse the BBALPHAMSG file I get nada. Does hobbit work off of a parent/child relationship with hosts? Say i have a router at a site and 20 or so devices off of that router. If the router goes down will i get a page from all 20 something devices or can i set it up to where if that happens that i only get a page from the router. By the way Henrik, great job on bbgen/bb integration with Hobbit. This is fairly easy to setup and comes with alot of pre- packaged things that is really nice. Great Job!!!!! Josh
