Hi All Has anyone used bb-disk_by_fs.sh with BB client? I am trying to find out how it will work with HOBBIT? There are few things I am concern about. 1. How will I manage alerts per partition which this script offers? 2. How will the graph work? Thanks for any feedbacks. rrd graphs for bb-xsnmp.pl script

I had a lot of graphs for several routers, ups, etc but they seem to be rather hosed. It looks like the data that was transferred is graphed well but no new data is going in correctly. It seems that any script sending data in a status message is not working. I suspect due to the formatting. One example is bb-xsnmp.pl script. I am using against routers, switches and apc ups. Using an APC ups as an example I get this in the web page: Tue Apr 5 09:23:03 2005 green UPS Temperature: 37? C bb-xsnmp.pl Version: 1.78 but in hobbit/data/rrd/apc1.tigr.org I have: tcp.conn.rrd tcp.telnet.rrd temperature.UPS_Temperature:_37&deg_C.rrd temperature.UPS_Temperature:_38&deg_C.rrd and the graph on the temperature page has no data but two entries at the bottom for UPS_Temperature:_37&deg_C and UPS_Temperature:_38&deg_C This problem is much worse on my switches and routers which have a different line for each sensor and every temperature ever reported.

Another LARRD issue

Thanks to Henrik for clearing up my previous problem, my bad. I have it working now. My next hurdle is that I have lots of information that I'd like to graph from a single test that won't graph well together... Some values are always in the single digits, some values are in the many thousands. Can I get more than one graph definition to display under the test? The other option I thought of is populating a different graph for each value and using @RRDFN@, but I don't see a good way to group the results in a meaningfull way.

Alternate pagesets.

Hi ! Testing creating alternate pagesets and it works just fine. I just need to clarify if is not possible to have a special "top" menu present on the alternate pages even if I create a new menu subdirectory with new items on the menu. Also title tag has no efftect on the alternate pages. BR Thomas

Friends, When I was running bbgen I used to configurate the --purplelifetime=600 , I know that this is deprecated now, my question is if exists a way to reduce the actual 30 minutes purplelifetime ? Rgds, Mario.

BBRELAY

Running hobbit 4.0.4 with only bbnet and bbproxy active I want to have hobbitd startet to handle the relay function and running bbdisplay. When editing the BBDISP="0.0.0.0" and BBDISPLAYS="10.10.10.10 10.10.10.20" all local tests goes fine. I can see in the bb-network log file that bbnet sends status data to both servers. However all client tests are not relayed to the second host. Which process should handle this trafic ? BR Thomas

Hobbit and HPOV NNM

Hi, I'm trying to push Hobbit alarms up to HPOV NNM (reference what "Guillaume" did in BB (re: http://support.bb4.com/archive/200203/msg00670.html)) However, his method will not work with Hobbit and I'm wondering if anyone has an external script or maybe some guidance that they can provide. Guillaume's solution was to edit line 1227 of bbpage.c to create a community for Ucd-SNMP and recompile bbd as well as making some configuration changes in bbwarnrules.cfg and bbwarnsetup.cfg. There's no need for that silliness. At least in BB. When you want to push alarms up via traps, just list trap-x.x.x.x as a recipient rather than an e-mail address or a pager. x.x.x.x is the ip address of the trap receiver. I'm not sure if this trick works in Hobbit however. I'm trying to setup some custom graphs and an having some problems. It doesn't look like the extra-script is running. Here is the relavent lines from hobbitlaunch.cfg: CMD hobbitd_channel --channel=status --log=$BBSERVERLOGS/larrd-status.log hobbitd_larrd --rrddir=$BBVAR/rrd --extra-script=/usr/lib/hobbit/server/bin/hobbit-ext-larrd.sh CMD hobbitd_channel --channel=data --log=$BBSERVERLOGS/larrd-data.log hobbitd_larrd --rrddir=$BBVAR/rrd --extra-tests=vmio Here's my testing script: #!/bin/sh # Input parameters: Hostname, testname (column), and messagefile HOSTNAME="$1" TESTNAME="$2" FNAME="$3" echo "HOSTNAME=$1 TESTNAME=$2 FNAME=$3" > /tmp/hobbit-ext-larrd.out I tried adding LARRD:*,vmio to the bb-hosts file for one of the nodes. I took that back out and added it to the LARRDS and GRAPHS options in hobbitserver.cfg. I get the graph icon on the bottom of my screen, but the script never runs (it never writes the tmp file). There has to be something simple that I'm missing, but I don't see it.

Can you have two duration directives, like this? I've been looking for a way to stop notifications after a period of time, is this the answer?
