Different Intervals for Different TCP Tests

We would like to configure hobbit such that we perform ping tests at 1 minute intervals, and we test the other TCP-based services (ssh, ftp, imap, ...) at 5 minute intervals. Is this possible and how would I do it (and, if it is possible, is it advisable or should it be avoided)? Thanks. Peter Murray Syracuse University pbmurray at syr.edu

Well, after updating to todays snapshot, the hobbitd_client column is no longer there... If it occurs again, I will run it through gdb... The snapshot I was using was 08.11 and 08.19. Hi, what is demotool? I can't build it since I don't have sys/select.h. There is a test for sys/select.h After removing demo-build from Makefile.rules the build of hobbit completes without error. [hobbit] Hobbit 4.0.4 released - Alert Script Issue

Hello Hernik, Although it *has* worked before, our Hobbit server 4.0.4 has a problem now whereas it is not running external alert-script anymore?! When running hobbitd_alert it says it would run the script where in fact, it does not; again anymore?! Hobbit has been installed using the sources, running "rpmbuild --rebuild hobbit-4.0.4-1.src.rpm". It did run the external scripts, so what has changed? We applied during our maintenance window the SLES9 patches. It has not reported since then, when I think of it. So, is there a library missing? Any suggestions? hobbitd_client crash

Sorry, in such a hurry, I forgot to post the details on the red/purplefor hobbitd_client... On the web page, getting: Program crashed Fatal signal caught! I do not see anything in the logs directory for this. It turns red on start, then after ½ hour, goes purple until the next restart. Henrik, This is a good page the Rosetta Stone for UNIX. I was looking to find out how I could determine physical memory on an OSF host, so you could include the memory test for OSF? ~/client/bin/hobbitclient-rhel3.sh: No such file or directory

I see this error in my ~/client/log/hobbitclient.log file after launching the hobbit client with "--os=rhel3": /home/bb/client/bin/hobbitclient-rhel3.sh: No such file or directory I'm using the latest snapshot. Is this a known issue? I'm using the --os=rhel3 switch to try and fix my vmstat graphs, but that still isn't working properly. The client collects the data correctly, but hobbit gets the idle & iowait columns reversed. Oddly enough, when the "runclient.sh" script is first executed, hobbit graphs properly for about 20 mins (4 iterations), then reverts back to switching the columns. Tom
