I see this error in my ~/client/log/hobbitclient.log file after launching the hobbit client with "--os=rhel3": /home/bb/client/bin/hobbitclient-rhel3.sh: No such file or directory I'm using the latest snapshot. Is this a known issue? Tom

Hello -- I recently switched from Nagios to Hobbit. So far I am MUCH happier. My problem: I have some custom Nagios plugins that I need to port to Hobbit (scripts that test SMTP error codes under certain conditions, for example). I've searched the list archives and the manpages with no luck. Big Brother has bb-exttab, but Hobbit seems to ignore that. Should the scripts be run directly from hobbitlaunch? Are there any guidelines for the output format they should use? I apologize if I've missed something obvious. Thank you! Matti

Which is why I've removed them from the current snapshots together with a bunch of other bb-client-specific settings. Henrik

1. Is there a hobbitd_client process running on your client? There should be. 2. There should be a 'hobbitd_channel --channel=client ....' process running on your server, as well. If its not there you may need to enable it in hobbitlaunch.cfg 3. Are you running a 4.1.1 server? Earlier versions of the server would not know how to handle the hobbitclient feed. Hmm.. how about the other tags that I see in msg.txt but now in hobbit webpage. For example, df/prtconf/memory/netstat/ps/top. Also I do not see any vmstat graph in trend column. All I have in trend column are ssh and conn. I believe Henri put those entries in for use by external scripts written for BigBrother that people might be using with Hobbit. I don't think Hobbit uses them for anything. What is confusing me is that in hobbitserver.cfg there are entries like this: BBCPUTAB="$BBHOME/etc/bb-cputab" BBDFTAB="$BBHOME/etc/bb-dftab" BBMSGSTAB="$BBHOME/etc/bb-msgstab" BBPROCTAB="$BBHOME/etc/bb-proctab" I then assume they have no meaning. Sorry, I though you were using the BigBrother client (based on the bb-dftab filename). If you're using the Hobbit client you need to put your thresholds in $BBHOME/etc/hobbit-client.cfg.
