Graphing help needed

Hi, i still have the problem that with our hobbit we are unable to generate more then de daily graph. Plese feel free to bash us for stupidity or maybe helb us with an easy way to get this problem solved. We tried to deinstall and started from scratch. So there ist in the "configure.server" one config line, where you set the wanted graphs. ***The Hobbit history webpage by default displays a 1-day ***graph of the history. It can also show a 1-week, 4-weeks and ***1-year graphs, or any combination of these. ***Which graphs to show by default (1d/1w/4w/1y/all) [all] We would like to have all (so against the starting lines) hence we said YES to all... But this does not work! Only the daily graph is displayed :( Digging in the Makefile and redoing the setup, leads to the following difference: using: Which graphs to show by default (1d/1w/4w/1y/all) [all] <return> --> results # Default history graph setting HISTGRAPHDEF = -DDEFPIXELS=960 -DDEFBARSUMS=15 using: Which graphs to show by default (1d/1w/4w/1y/all) [all] 1d/4w <return> --> results # Default history graph setting HISTGRAPHDEF = -DDEFPIXELS=960 -DDEFBARSUMS=5 Are we right that the Variable: "-DDEFBARSUMS" is the point to fiddle with? bb-host include problem

I am running hobbit 4.1.2p1 on a Solaris Sparc. I want to monitor my entire clients to determine if that are up and connected. With a script I created a file of all clients for each subnet from a database that includes all hosts. I run this when I add or remove hosts in the database. I then added an "include filename-of-clients" to the bb-hosts. The following is an example of the include file. 128.999.3.40 abel.xxx.yyy.edu 128.999.3.39 agnesi.xxx.yyy.edu 128.999.3.212 ahlfors.xxx.yyy.edu 128.999.3.91 apostol-lp.xxx.yyy.edu 128.999.3.26 archimedes.xxx.yyy.edu My bb-hosts looks as follows page subnet3 Subnet3 include /homes/bb/hobbit/bb-host-include/bb-host-list-3 The web page is created for the clients and it has "conn info trends" header for each client. Clients that are not pingable are marked red. I also have entries in the data/rrd/hostname.domain.edu. PROBLEM: The problem is that when I click on any icon for a host, I get a page that says "No such host". What have I forgotten? [hobbit] bb-host include problem

For kicks I decided to just add a few names that were in the include file to the bb-host file and comment out the include line. Now they work. Am I using the include file the wrong way? /proc file systeem on AIX

Hi, The command df on AIX (I think 5.2 and higher) includes /proc. And it's useless to monitor this virtual file system. So I changed my df command to: # The sed stuff is to make sure lines are not split into two. df -Ik | grep -v "^/proc" | sed -e '/^[^ ][^ ]*$/{ N s/[ ]*\n[ ]*/ / }' This is a bug in the hobbitclient-aix.sh script. [hobbit] drop host not working

Stef, I had the same problem until I remember that I have to add the name as it appears in the bb-hosts file. Hobbit crash

Hi Henrik I ran into a "funny" problem today : when clicking on a test, I had the "Status board not available", and all of a sudden my Hobbit map was all green (there was not a single test on the map). I restarted Hobbit (4.1.2p1 + the 3 patches), but lost all of my disabled tests... Now I'm getting this errors in the 'hobbitd' column : Latest errormessages: Bogus status message contains no data: Sent from hobbitd Bogus status message contains no data: Sent from hobbitd Bogus status message contains no data: Sent from hobbitd Do you have a clue ? False Positives in proc

Greetings, Recently I have noticed that I have been getting a lot of false positives with hobbit in the proc section. Basically what I did was to change the hobbit client so that it also gave CPU information on each process and then made the following rules: PROC "% 9[5-9]\.[0-9][0-9] " 0 0 red PROC "% 10[0-9]\.[0-9][0-9] " 0 0 red PROC "% 8[0-9]\.[0-9][0-9] " 0 0 yellow PROC "% 9[0-4]\.[0-9][0-9] " 0 0 yellow However, this is what I get: % 9[5-9]\.[0-9][0-9] (found 4, req. at most 0) And there are no processes that are in the 95.00-99.99 range. Also, when I copy the ps output to a text file and use egrep or perl to do a search on the output, they give me nothing. Any ideas??
