Hi Henrik, The dispinclude is not working in the latest snapshot I downloaded. Hobbit was compiled under Solaris 9. The problem seems to be in function stackfgets in lib/stackio.c. NK-view + bbtray

Dear all, today am I using bb-tray to check the old bbnk view, so that I get an alarm when something change there. Both loudly and on the screen. I just read that the old bbnk-view will disappear in the future. Will there be something similar in the windows hobbit-application? [hobbit] NCV module doesn't seem to accept GAUGE

I did not have a new line between NCV_ExchDB and NCV_smtphealth, but I did add one but it didn't make a difference. The ExchDB GAUGE is not working either. When I dump the rrd file it also shows up us DERIVE. I have added the appropriate ncv settings to the hobbitserver.cfg file and the also created the definition for the graph in hobbitgraph.cfg. I am getting the graph to display on my status page but the lines are all flat. I used the rrdtool to dump the results of my rrd file and it looks like all of the data sets are being entered as DERIVE although I specified GAUGE. Randomly purple...

I can finally say that I have hobbit working. Still a lot to do with the alert system and getting it laid out how I want it to do status alerts, but everything is happy and green and doing well... ...except. This morning I came in to the office to discover lots of purple status markers. I dug into the reports and found literally nothing that reported as anything except green status. I am a little confused, I see how I can stop the alteration from effecting server status reports, but I don't see how to stop it from happening, specifically, I can't see why it is happening. Ok, one more from the peanut gallery. on my current status page, the only system currently reporting correct operations is the local system the server is installed in. However literally everything else is showing correctly. So, I know the service is running unless bbd is referancing the daemon side of the server. So, I have 4 systems reporting, Name bbd bbgen bbtest conn cpu disk etc etc server green green green green green green sys1 red blank blank green blank blank sys2 red blank blank green green green sys3 red blank blank green green green So I have the bbd, bbgen, bbtest configs set the same for all the systems, I just fail to see why I am getting the odd behavior off of the remote systems when literally everything else is reporting correctly showing that the hobbit-client service is in fact functioning. --Launce

Well.. I got a Windows client.. sort of...

Hi: I managed to get the hobbit client working on Cygwin. In a way there it is a way to have some basic monitoring on windows boxes. Perhaps with some scripts and connections to COM components, something interesting could be done in this setup, like talking to Outlook and get tasks and such. The only caveat is that the server does not have a trap to handle cygwin hosts, hence my hair pulling for the past few days. I worked it around by spoofing the server by changing the reported operating system on the client from cygwin to linux and then changing the linux script to be cygwin friendly. Regards, Luis
