Hi again I'm using a Hobbit 4.2 client (from latest snapshot) with the "--local" flag in ~client/etc/clientlaunch.cfg Here's my ~client/etc/localclient.cfg : DEFAULT UP 1h LOAD 5.0 10.0 DISK * 90 95 MEMPHYS 100 101 MEMSWAP 50 80 MEMACT 90 97 CLOCK 3600 PROC snmpd 1 1 yellow PROC /usr/sbin/apache2 10 50 red PORT "LOCAL=%([.:]80)$" state=LISTEN TEXT=HTTP PORT "LOCAL=%([.:]22)$" state=ESTABLISHED max=20 color=yellow TRACK=ssh "TEXT=SSH logins" DIR /home/hobbituser red SIZE<10000 FILE /var/log/apache2/access_log red SIZE<100M LOG /var/log/apache2/error_log WARNING COLOR=yellow Everything works but the FILE, DIR and LOG tests. I get "The client did not report any logfile data" and "No files checked". I saw that commentary : #NB: The directories you wish to monitor must be listed in a "dir:..." # entry in the client-local.cfg file, in order for the client to # report any data about them. As I understand, a client in local mode sends directy its statuses to the Hobbit server, but it seems that some configuration has still to be made on the server... Henrik, could you change this behaviour, so that a client in local mode doesn't need configuration on the server ? I'd really appreciate, as it will allow us to upgrade from Big Brother Unix client to Hobbit client. Another thing, I keep getting every 5 minutes this error message in ~client/logs/hobbitclient.log : 2006-06-27 15:20:08 Failed to get a message, terminating And the clientupdate command doesn't return anything : $ ~client/bin/clientupdate --level $ Thanks ! -- Frédéric Mangeant Steria EDC Sophia-Antipolis

That graph is the netstat3 iteration from the netstat rrd which doesn't work on AIX (4 or 5) You will also find that the ifstat data is not collected on AIX (or linux). Thanks Henrik, I was able to delete the stale shared memory segments and start hobbit. If you login as root and run "ipcs -m" you'll get a list of the existing shared memory segments. If a Hobbit run has crashed, it might leave these behind. In that case, use "ipcrm" to delete them. (Hobbit will do that automatically when restarting, but if they were created by another user then it cannot). Greet, OpenBSD 3.2 running hobbit-4.1.1 as server. Started getting all purple network tests on the display. Nothing has changed on this box for months.. I read a thread for running with --no-ares, I tried appending that line to a few CMD lines in hobbitlaunch.cfg with no luck. FreeBSD 6.1 and PS and COMMAND

I am running FreeBSD 6.1 Release, Hobbit with the patches on the website today, and a bit frustrated. In hobbit-clients.cfg I have added the following lines: HOST=mail02.syix.com PROC cron 1 -1 yellow PROC httpd 2 -1 red PROC radiusd 1 -1 red PROC named 1 -1 red In the Hobbit Display, and in my pages on my phone, I get for that server: Expected string COMMAND not found in ps output header and on the display, the "COMMAND" column is not there... Hi all, this is my first post here, so I'll introduce myself briefly : I'm a sysadmin for 4 or 5 years, I live in Paris, France. I built up a Big Brother + bbgen 2.x server at our company, taking care of more than 400 hosts. bbgen as proven so useful that we not want to drop Big Brother in favour of Hobbit (even thought I dislike Tolkien writings and like Orwell ones). However, there's a catch. Since bbgen 3.x, the libcurl has been dropped for bbtest-net, and the ability to follow Redirects for http disappeared. Of course, I need it for some major websites. I have several options : (1)/ ask Henrik to implement a straightforward 302 support ; (2) implement it myself into bbtest-net ; (3) write an external module based on bbtest-net 2.x to perform the http tests. This makes a "--no-http" switch into hobbit useful, so I can keep my URLs into the regular bb-hosts file. I just had a look at the source code, and (2) is out of my skills. (3) is a reasonable option. But keeping the hobbit as standard and clean as possible is important as well, so... (1) Henrik, have you got any plans of making the http redirect back to work ?
