problem compiling HP-UX 11.11 using gcc

Sorry, done. Has anyone had luck with HP-UX. I have searched and searched and searched. It seems like several people have had luck, but I keep getting compilation errors. Latest snapshot - DOWNTIME applied to individual tests

Hi again Henrik I'm trying to use the new DOWNTIME settings. From the Changelog : * DOWNTIME can now be applied to individual tests, and you can specify a text explaining why the service is down. The new format in the bb-hosts file is: DOWNTIME=columns:days:starttime:endtime:cause If you have more than one service that you want to set the downtime for, "column" can be "*" to match all services, or you can define multiple downtime-settings: "DOWNTIME=http,ftp:*:0300:0315:CMS update;*:0:0200:0210:Reboot" I added this to a host : DOWNTIME=*:*:1000:1600:Test In the 'info' colum, that appeared correctly : Planned downtime:All days:*:1000:1600:Test Sent (with BBwin 0.7) a red status which appeared as... red, and an alert was sent. turning up (way up) debugging for the conn tests

Hi, I've been trying to debug a seemingly false conn failure between one of the interfaces of my Netapp filer and my Hobbit server. This problem has persisted for a very long time, and I'm just not able to narrow down or capture enough information to find out what is causing it. I'm using Hobbit 4.1.2p1 on my server, and Data ONTAP 7.0.4 on my FAS3020c filers. My hobbit server is configured to monitor 2 IPs for 2 different interfaces on the netapp filer. At seemingly random intervals, the conn tests will fail for one of those interfaces, even though NFS continues to work just fine out of that interface. After the interface "fails", it'll either flap between green and red, or just stay red for 30 mins, an hour, sometimes 4 hours. THere does not appears to be a regular pattern or time period for this behavior. Since tcpdump became my new buddy, I've noticed a few behaviors between the hobbit server and the "failing" filer interface that I'd like to better understand. 1. How may pings are sent by fping to each host, by default? If I understand what the man page says, fping will send several before giving up. If fping gets a reply from the first, does it continue to send more? 2. How can I turn up the debugging output for the conn tests, beyond this line in my [bbnet] config in hobbitlaunch.cfg: CMD bbtest-net --report --ping --checkresponse --debug --timing Is there one I can add for bbretest, since it'll be handling the network tests after the first conn failure? 3. Would a hobbit network test ever initiate a connection using UDP on a high numbered port, like 37383? Thanks for any help on this. Tom

If you want to watch the /var/log/bull/bull.log file only on cc-1, then put an entry in client-local.cfg for cc-1 like : [cc-1] log:/var/log/messages:10240 log:/var/log/bull/bull.log:10240 file:/var/log/messages:md5 as the text in client-local.cfg says :" When clients contact the Hobbit server, they get the section from this file which matches their hostname or operating system." Conn History showing RED

Linux server, Hobbit version 4.1.2p1. Conn history page is showing all red, since morning of 6-21-06; even though current status is green, an every client. All alerting, and bb2 page functions are normal. All other tests are normal on the history page. With your original bb-hosts file, it was very easy to reproduce the problem. It's a bug in how Hobbit loads the bb-hosts file. The problem is with the way you've defined your "page" and "subpage" entries in the bb-hosts file. You're using TAB's instead of simple spaces - with that, Hobbit fails to detect your page/subpage settings. So all hosts end up on the top-level page, at least as far as the PAGE settings in hobbit-alerts.cfg goes. The quick fix is to simply replace all of the TAB characters in your bb-hosts file with simple spaces. I'll get a proper fix into the next version of Hobbit. Regards, Henrik

I am sorry I should have been clear that these were fragments of the complete config files. Maybe I am miss understanding the way this should work. I assumed that PAGE=/ would match all hosts. And that PAGE=usirv would match all hosts on that page and all subpages. I assumed this because that is sort of the way mine is working. The PAGE=/ matches everything but none of the other rules work at all. In the debug you run I see "Matching host:service:page 'usirv-piv01:conn:usirv/usirvpivotal'", I never see the page location when I run it. Limit on size of message received ?

Hi, One of my test (AIX lvm) is sending 371 lines to hobbit server (12k). The server doesn't update the corresponding column. Is there a limit in size of message (this is not a combo) ? Nicolas
