Hi, We have following rule in hobbit-clients.cfg: LOG /var/log/messages MATCH=%(?-i)Redundancy\slost|degraded|error|Error COLOR=red IGNORE=%(?-i)webmail.exe.*segfault\sat|register_security|asking\sfor\scache\sdata|Outstream\sdata\sxfer\serror|cdrom|pam_ldap:\serror\strying\sto\sbind\sas HOST=zeb1,zeb2 According to this, the line "Jan 29 21:05:52 zeb2 kernel: webmail.exe[30786]: segfault at 000000009980e286 rip 000000009980e286 rsp 00000000ffff8800 error 14" in /var/log/messages of host zeb2 should NOT raise a red alert (IGNORE) but it does :-( The pcre test shows correct matching: [bb at iris etc]$ pcretest PCRE version 4.5 01-December-2003 re> /(?-i)webmail.exe.*segfault\sat|register_security|asking\sfor\scache\sdata|Outstream\sdata\sxfer\serror|cdrom|pam_ldap:\serror\strying\sto\sbind\sas/ data> Jan 29 21:05:52 zeb2 kernel: webmail.exe[30786]: segfault at 000000009980e286 rip 000000009980e286 rsp 00000000ffff8800 error 14 0: webmail.exe[30786]: segfault at data> Does anybody see anything wrong? Who Test

I have noticed that the client collects all of the data and then the server "tests" the condition. How would I go about writing a who script that would tell me when someone is logged in as root? Thanks Richard

[bug?] Crash of hobbitsvc.cgi on trends column display

Hi Henrik, Yesterday I upgraded my hobbit server to take advantage of the all-in-one corrections, plus the "split-ncv" feature (have a peek in your spambox to see my message about this :)). I then found a bug that did not show up on the test host, so I rolled back. [oh, I found another small bug, not severe at all: when running hobbitsvc.cgi from the command line, it segfaults if SCRIPT_NAME is not set. Why would I all of a sudden be getting this on one of my hobbit clients? I can telnet to port 1984 from the client server as root and as the hobbit user. Im running 4.2.0 on both my server and my clients. Error - Failed to retrieve ghostlist from server

Greetings, I am receiving the following error on a recently configured hobbit server. When I attempt to view the Ghost List all I see on the page is: Failed to retrieve ghostlist from server The only difference between this server and others that I have setup is that the bbd port is set to 8080 instead of 1984. bbaliasname and include directive

Hi all, I have problems getting the FQDN from some AIX servers using the uname -n, so I am looking for a way to solve this. Will the hobbit client read the hostname from a bbaliasname file in ~hobbit/etc/ ? It seems that I can not do a include direcive in the hobbit-clients.cfg file, will this be supported in 2.3 ? An unlucky "date" command on the hobbit server has changed the time from jan 12 to nov 1 for about 10/15 minutes :( Now almost all histories look like this: Mon Jan 29 00:09:59 2007 green 10:32:48 Sun Jan 28 23:55:01 2007 red 0:14:58 Wed Nov 01 00:00:32 2006 green 88 days 23:54:29 Wed Nov 01 00:00:17 2006 purple 0:00:15 Fri Jan 12 11:21:29 2007 green none Fri Jan 12 09:55:20 2007 red 1:26:09 is there a way to clean the history removing the wrong "Nov 01" lines? thank you -- Gianluca
