Hi, Is it possible that bbcmd is not using the enviroment setting HOBBITCLIENTHOME? I changed the hobbit client installation directory. runclient.sh is working, but testing a script and using bbcmd is not working. bbcmd is not using the setting HOBBITCLIENTHOME. Stef

I tried this: emarganne2.link = (idcsrv912.resource.tiauto.com.conn && emarganne.conn) emarganne3.link = (emarganne2.link && emarganne1.conn) idcsrv912, emarganne and emarganne1 are real devices. When I do this the emarganne2.link in the "emarganne3.link" logical expression have "-1" as value... just like it is unknown. This is what says Hobbit: (emarganne2.link&&emarganne1.conn) = (-1&&1) = 1 &unknown emarganne2.link green emarganne1.conn Hobbit does not seam to remember the previously evaluated "emarganne2.link" value which it should do. NOTICE sms messages don't honour TIME settings in hobbit-alerts.cfg

Hello, I have a problem with SMS NOTICE type messages. We have a couple of systems for which we want to receive SMS messages fro 17:00 until 23:00 every weekday, and from 08:00 until 23:00 in weekends. I therefore used the following TIME specification: TIME=W:1700:2300,60:0800:2300. This works fine for regular alert messages (RED and PURPLE), we don't get alerts during office hours, but when we temporarly DISABLE a test during office hours, we still get an SMS message. Does anyone else have this problem or can anyone suggest what is wrong here? Regards, Eric.

Dear all, I am happy to join this enthusiastic mailing list and congrats to Henrik for giving us Wonderful software "Hobbit". question: I am monitoring around 20 servers and all are under one domain i.e example.com. I am want to enable all hobbit clients features like cpu, memory and disk to all servers under example.com How to add the entry on hobbit-clients.cfg in a single shot ? Please find below lines. is it possible to do something like below ? The problem was the alternate pageset stanza was at the bottom of the bb-hosts file instead of the top. I moved it to the top and it works fine now. Thanks for the assistance. Tim ##################################### Thanks for the assistance but I'm still having no luck. I did change the bb-hosts section to use ossubpage. I am running this manually from the command line so I haven't added it to hobbitlaunch yet. I plan on doing that once I get it working. It creates the page and both subpages properly but doesn't add the server into the subpage. I can only get it working by using OS:* but then it puts the server in the top page and not in the subpages like I want it. Hi all, We are about to install a Veritas back-up solution and I would like to know if somebody has done something to monitor such back-up solutions. Thank you. Btw here is the answer to my yesterday question: Start the bbcombotest in the hobbitlaunch.cfg idcsrv912.resource.tiauto.com.conn = idcsrv911.info && idcsrv911.ERPlog bigtest2.conn = idcsrv911.ERPlog Introduce such test in bbcombotest.cfg. You can overwrite already evaluated tests (like the conn test for idcsrv912 in the example above). Add those test in the bb-hosts file : 0.0.0.0 bigtest2 # noconn 0.0.0.0 idcsrv912.resource.tiauto.com # noconn That will force the conn result to be the one from the combo test. You can detail the correct IP address if you know it but it also works well that way if there are some way to resolve the symbolic names with DNS. Etienne Marganne TI Automotive. bb-hosts file parsing issue

Hi all, Now here is a tough problem we encountered. We recently installed a new Hobbit server to get some redundancy. Every thing worked fine since we copied our configuration files and try to make it work with that installation of Hobbit server. The parsing of the bb-hosts file (in our case, this file is renamed bb-hosts-shared for historical reason, believe it does not change anything) does not work. bbgen crashes ... and we do not understand why. We tried all combinations of tab's and spaces ... it only propagates the error to the next line. I think that this issue is more of the scope of Henrik but if anybody has similar problems; his, her proposals are welcome. Well, as a matter of fact, I do not believe this (bb-hosts-shared file) could be the source of the issue. Everything has worked fine until now... Why suddenly such a crash? I honestly think that it comes from the file parser ...
