Graphs stop update 24 hours after client reboot; start again 24 hours later.

Hi all, I need some help/suggestions to figure out why my "cpu load" and "users & processes" graphs stop updating about 24 hours after the systems reboot. The updates stop for anywhere from 12 to 24 hours, then simply start back up again. Only the "CPU load" and the "Users and Processes" graphs are having the problem; disk, memory, cpu utilization, network traffic don't miss a beat. We have a number of identically configured systems, they all reboot around 00:30 local time (they are in different time zones) Wednesday mornings. And they all stop reporting cpu-load/users-and-processes graphs sometime Thursday mornings and then start up again Thursday afternoon/Friday morning. They don't all stop/start at exactly the same time, but the majority do stop/start at the same time. I end up with about a 24 hour gap in my graphs every week. sorry, because i ask a lot of questions...! this time i don' get an email when a status goes into critical state. i installed mailutils package, and nothing have changed. but i haven't configured my mailing server yet. do you think that i should configure it then the mailing will take place, or i should do something else?! and thanks a lot... :-)

hobbitd_rrd crash in trunk

Hi, i'm running trunk, and got a red "hobbitd_rrd" column for30 minutes this night, it went purple after the"hobbitd_rrd" said "program crash - Fatal signal caught" -> what could be causing this ? olivier

client doesn't send reports to server

hi, yesterday everything was good, but now the server doesn't get any reports from the client. when i checked "clientlaunch.log" (on the client) i found that the files "hobbitclient-include.cfg" and "bbdisp-runtime.cfg" aare missing. i also didn't find the variable BBDISP in the "hobbitclient.cfg". i really don't know what to do now... thanks :-)

http network test

I've got a few instances of a.b.c.d www.server.com # http://www.server.com/ and the http column shows up just fine, including the time the test took and a nice graph. The question I was just asked is, is it possible to specify "max response time", so that if the time shown is greater than N seconds I get a red flag?? I don't see a way to set that in the man pages for either bb-hosts or hobbit-client.cfg. Thanks, Ralph Mitchell

configure procs ports and files and msg

Hi I cannot find how to configure that monitors im using hobbit , and the status of this monitors is clear. but if you click on them They show information , for example clicking in procs it shows all the process. but msg dont show anything but the message " System logs at Wed Jan 28 10:13:06 CET 2009 : No log data available The client did not report any logfile data " the same with files . Some idea???? regards!!!

[trunk] snmp: ifmib question

Hi, I started playing with xymon's snmp (hobbit-snmpmibs.cfg and hobbit-snmphosts.cfg) Looks like i could get ride of mrtg ;) I would like to know is there is some sort of fancy cgi to view all the stuff graphed in ifmib ? (viewing graphs from a 48 ports switch, using the "trends" column is going to a painful..) Olivier
