sorry, because i ask a lot of questions...! this time i don' get an email when a status goes into critical state. i installed mailutils package, and nothing have changed. but i haven't configured my mailing server yet. do you think that i should configure it then the mailing will take place, or i should do something else?! and thanks a lot... :-)

Custom step size of rrds?

Hi, Is there a way to have hobbit create new rrd's with a step size of 60 seconds instead of 5 minutes?

Hello - I am working on migrating my Hobbit server from Solaris 10 over to Xymon running on Ubunutu Server 8.10 .. Do I have to do anything special to maintain my configuration (I will be swapping IP addresses when complete) and historical data? Thanks - -- --==[ Bob Gordon ]==--

html files in "xymon/server/www" directory are missing (libpcre.so.0 too)

hi i formated my laptop and after that i installed xymon, but the problem is that html files in "home/xymon/sever/www" are missing, when i checked logfiles i found in "bb-displa.log" that the library lippcre.so.0 is missing too...!! so when i want to acceed to the xymon tool, the browser give me files that exist in "home/xymon/server/www"... please i neeeed help, i'm really blocked... :-( thanks...

graph cpu util

Just wondering if there is a way to have the cpu utilization graph could show up when clicking on cpu monitor. hobbitd_rrd crash in trunk

Hi, i'm running trunk, and got a red "hobbitd_rrd" column for30 minutes this night, it went purple after the"hobbitd_rrd" said "program crash - Fatal signal caught" -> what could be causing this ? olivier

configure procs ports and files and msg

Hi I cannot find how to configure that monitors im using hobbit , and the status of this monitors is clear. but if you click on them They show information , for example clicking in procs it shows all the process. but msg dont show anything but the message " System logs at Wed Jan 28 10:13:06 CET 2009 : No log data available The client did not report any logfile data " the same with files . Some idea???? regards!!!

Find Host feature

I did a query looking for a host using the "Administration -> find host" feature. Put in my host name. Xymon changed the URL to be the actual host that it was sitting on, not the virtual web server name, so the query failed. Ie. http://xymon.example.com/xymon-cgi/bb-findhost.sh Find host: sunserver It returned: http://webserver.example.com/xymon-cgi/solaris/#sunserver.example.com (I use virtual apache servers to host xymon, it makes it easier to move to a new box if needed) Craig

Hi, Glad to see hobbit/xymon is still alive and kicking. I've just dumped Nagios after spending hours knee-deep in config files and still finding that I can't get it to do what I want reliably. My question is: Please can someone point me at some documentation for setting up a multiple monitoring-host environment using bbnet servers and a bbdisplay server? I am looking to setup a bbnet for each remote site which will feed back to the bbdisplay at our office. Thanks, Malcolm P.S.
