Hi ! I'm running xymon 4.3.5 and can't get the "Stop after" information shown on the info-page like in this very old thread http://lists.xymon.com/archive/2008-November/022162.html the code of lib/loadalerts.c should be ok ... my alert-config snip PAGE=services/door MAIL $XYMON COLOR=yellow,red DURATION<2h FORMAT=plain RECOVERED NOTICE With DURATION>2h or REPEAT=4h everything is shown on the info-page ... Got anybody an idea or got the same problem ? thanks & cheers Martin

Hi all, I have an script for checking my database. I am getting an error but I am unable to trouble shoot. seems to be missing the/a patch for the 24 hour leak on openSUSE systems after a reboot, as reported by Larry Barber on 07.11.2011 15:19 in "minor bug report" "SuSE systems report uptime as being up "1 day" rather than "1 days" as other Linuxes do. This seems to cause Xymon to skip the trends graphing during the period from 24 to 48 hours after a machine has been rebooted. Xymon 4.3.6 html man page issues

Thanks for the new version Henrik! I've justed updated to Xymon 4.3.6 and I noticed this: http://www.xymon.com/xymon/help/manpages/man1/ackinfo.cgi.1.html In a future version of Xymon (after Xymon 4.2), this utility will also be used for acknowledging alerts at other levels. Is this still for a future version? There are also (at least) 2 files missing: http://www.xymon.com/xymon/help/manpages/man1/criticaleditor.cgi.8.html http://www.xymon.com/xymon/help/manpages/man1/ack.cgi.1.html These files also missing on my server. Hi, I just upgraded from 4.3.4 to 4.3.5 and I am getting errors that I do not understand. Xymon clientupdate Issue

Hi, Currently in the process of setting up a new Xymon installation based on Solaris 10 x86. We’ve managed to compile and setup the server and clients fine, clients are reporting into the main Xymon server without issue. We have however got stuck on one problem. When trying to auto-update the clients with a new version of the client it fails. See below: $ ./clientupdate --update=client_v3 2011-12-06 11:03:59 Whoops ! Failed to send message (Connection failed) 2011-12-06 11:03:59 -> connect to Xymon daemon at 127.0.0.1:1984 failed (Connection refused) 2011-12-06 11:03:59 -> Recipient '127.0.0.1', timeout 15 2011-12-06 11:03:59 -> 1st line: 'download client_v3.tar' 2011-12-06 11:03:59 Cannot fetch new client tarfile: Status 5 tar: blocksize = 0 The client is however connecting to the Xymon server and sending alerts without issue. When I run the same command on the Xymon server to update its client, it works fine. I’m assuming it’s failing because it’s trying to contact 127.0.0.1, however I can’t see where it’s getting this address from?! When the client was compiled we gave the IP address of the Xymon server. When I run a strings on the clientupdate binary I can see the following entry hardcoded?! ~~~~~ XYMONSERVERIP 127.0.0.1 ~~~~~ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Adam

4.2.3 getting save/run dialog from "Client Data" link in IE only.

4.3 has been backburnered here for a while, so still on 4.2.3. Just found that IE (7) gives me the "Do you want to run or save" popup for "Client Data", i.e. bb-hostsvc.sh. It works fine in Firefox, and all of the other cgi-bin stuff works fine in both. bb-hostsvc.sh is 755 like all the other scripts. Was this a known issue? Patched? It's become an issue because when I'm roaming offsite, I have to use a "jump" box to get to the Xymon server, and I can't install Firefox on the jump box.

ORA-12514 in xymon

Hello, in xymon we sometimes get the following error message output after adding a new database Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g. ORA-12514:TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor (IDBD Error: OCIServerAttach) It's not a configuration error, SID, Port, Servername or IP adress are all configured properly. All other remote applications can connect with this values, only xymon has problems to connect. All our databases are configured in the same way in xymon, but only some of them show the ORA-12514 failure. Does anybody have seen this problem also in the past? Thank you Jens
