[Feature request] Alerts should mention that the reason the colour is X is due to flapping

One of my colleagues queried yesterday why he got an alert when the text of the e-mail suggests the status is green and there were 0 failures in the past 10 minutes. Looking at the status now, I saw that it said: WARNING: Flapping status This must be the reason why the status colour was what it was when the alert was generated - the status was flapping. But this fact should be in the e-mail, just like it is in the display, or it just looks wrong. Alternatively, alerts should be suppressed for flapping statuses until it actually goes red (or whatever is configured in alerts.cfg) again. This would mean storing the current colour separely from the flapping-locked colour (which I expect is done anyway) and using the current colour to match the COLOR rule in alerts.cfg, and the flapping-locked colour to get the history of how long the alert has been in this colour for the purposes of matching against DURARATION and REPEAT rules. So for alert configured like this: MAIL $pg-opssms COLOR=red DURATION>10 REPEAT=30 RECOVERED that goes red for 5 minutes, yellow for 6, red for 5, yellow for 5, green for 5, yellow for 5, red for 30 minutes an alert should be genererated after 11 minutes and 41 minutes, not 10 and 40. This would mean the alert would detail the current error in the text of the alert, rather than the fact that everything is fine at that moment. Kind regards, SebA

xymon not display graphs.

Good Day Please assist with the following error when trying to view graphs. I've installed Xymon on solaris 10. I have data collected for the server but cannot display graphs. Once I click on the following I receive the error below. Flapping Status

The most flexible option would be to specify for each hostname.test what the flapping settings should be. Wilcards and macros could be useful for things like conn flapping, but for custom tests, these ideally want their own flapping settings. I have a custom test that I would want to lock flapping colour for a maximum of 5 minutes as the test runs every minute... Problem adding GRAPHS in xymonserver.cfg

On the latest version of Xymon trunk, I cannot get the GRAPHS= feature in xymonserver.cfg to work as I would hope, following the instructions listed here: http://www.xymon.com/xymon/help/howtograph.html If I add disk1 so it becomes: GRAPHS="la,disk,disk1,<... lots more ...>,xymonproxy,xymond the disk1 graph does not show up on the trends page. However, I know the disk1 graph works, because I can view it by manipulating the URL generated when I click on the disk graph. And I know the xymonserver.cfg file is being read OK, because if I change disk to disk1 in the original line, the disk graph disappears altogether. What's wrong? Kind regards, SebA

Monitor process on two servers - only one should have it running at one time

I have two servers G1 and G2 where I need to monitor a process P. P should be running either on G1 or on G2. But never on both at the same time, then alert. I could simply looks for process P in section=ps of the clientlog of the both servers G1 and G2 and then alert if both comes back with the process P running, at the same time.
