Did this regress? In 4.3.7 I can’t seem to get the COMMENT tag to show up anymore. Works fine on older version 4.3.0. Does anyone have these showing successfully? example entry: xx.xx.xx.xx server.xxx.sas.com # CLIENT:server ssh COMMENT:"APP #1" prefer Doesn’t show “APP #1” on the GUI like it used to. -- Tom

How to have XYMON show FULL logs of client server? also how to show different logs for different servers?

So I am using this method on client-local.cfg to show the logs: [linux] log:/var/log/myapp/my.app.log:90240 ignore MARK However even if i increase the MAXDATA (90240) it still only shows the last hour or so of logging. - under 'msgs' . I would like to to show more than that. how is this possible? eg. /var/log/myapp/my.app.log has logging from midnight, but only shows from the last 20 minutes. I would like it to show at least 2 hours worth of logging. Also, I would like to have different logs show for different client systems. I have tried this method: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/System_Monitoring_with_Xymon/Other_Docs/FAQ#Ho… but I don't see anything with hohbbit-clients.cfg - Can I not use the HOST=<client hostname> in the client-local.cfg ? tia

Hello again When you say "xymon is not running", do you mean "xymon.sh" or "hobbitd", because xymon.sh is running but "hobbitd" is not. If I do: "ps -ef | grep hobbitd" l only get: "root 30114 5880 0 14:28 pts/1 00:00:00 grep hobbitd". I tried to start the service using: "service hobbitd start" but I get the "not recognised service" message. Xymon is installed on Centoos and firewall is disabled on the windows client. Hi everyone I have setup xymon and I am trying to add a windows XP client. This client is already monitored by big brother(old version) and it has bbwin.exe version 0.12 installed. How can I make this particular windows XP client to be also monitored by xymon? I have added a second line in the BBWin.cfg inside C:\Program Files\BBWin\etc\BBWin.cfg <setting name="bbdisplay" value="IP_Address" /> but xymon does not display any information. Could someone please let me know if I am missing something? Hi Folks, I'm running Xymon 4.3.3 on Solaris 10 and have now rolled it out on all the servers/LDOMs/zones that I have and all the basics are working well. For the past hour or so I have been trying to get zonestat working; On the Client I have put the zonestat.sh script in /opt/xymon/client/ext and have modified the clientlaunch.cfg with # Zone Monitoring Script. Hi folks, I'm sure this is going to be something really silly that I've missed - but I've been pulling my hair out over this one for a couple of days now. alerts.cfg $EMAIL_ALERT=carl.inglis at rakon.com $LIN_WINDOWS_PROBLEMS=$EMAIL_ALERT HOST=%lin(.*) SERVICE=%win(.*) MAIL $LIN_WINDOWS_PROBLEMS REPEAT=24h DURATION>1d RECOVERED STOP HOST=* EXPAGE=printers MAIL $EMAIL_ALERT REPEAT=1h RECOVERED UNMATCHED STOP When the host "lin-apps-01" has a yellow alert on it's "winUpdates" services, I expect it to shout about it once every 24h. It is, however, shouting about it once every hour. It's clear that the first HOST line is being ignored - I suspect my regex is incorrect in some way. Any thoughts or pointers would be appreciated.
