Never leave the mailing list. Always reply all. Yes, that is different. We're talking Linux here. You don't specify, so we on the list are forced to guess. The openssl Linux package is just the executable. Xymon web interface missing?

Hi all, I have a fresh install of Xymon on CentOS 5, following the instructions here: http://xymon.sourceforge.net/xymon/help/install.html There were no errors during configure or install, but now when trying to access the URL, I see a directory listing (folders called gifs, help, html, menu, etc) rather than the Xymon web interface. Sorry to pose this question here, but I have no idea how this is supposed to work. Should there be an index.php/index.html that is missing or somehow didn't get installed? An Alias to the correct file in the Apache config (xymon.conf)? Thanks for any help!

Unable to start xymon

I have been adding hosts to a custom file bb-zenor for monitoring. I noticed that when checking my ghost list it was displaying the following error Failed to retrieve ghostlist from server I then did some research and read that restarting xymon would help but when i try to restart it i get the following 2012-12-19 11:17:13 Loading hostnames 2012-12-19 11:17:13 Loading saved state 2012-12-19 11:17:13 Setting up network listener on 0.0.0.0:1984 2012-12-19 11:17:13 Cannot bind to listen socket (Address already in use) 2012-12-19 11:17:13 Task xymond terminated, status 1 Also for the machines monitored if i try to click onto one of the links i get the following error. Cannot load host configuration I checked and we are not using bb-proxy or any proxy's at all. Any ideas on why this would be happening -- Keith Ferguson Cell:631*882*4409 Systems Administrator

Email Alert for xymon

Hi Team, We have xymon installed on Linux server. I want to configure our email id when anything wrong goes with the monitoring (like CPU stops reporting,etc.) Could you please tell where we need to configure the email ids so that we can get those alerts. I am running version 4.3.5 When I run xymonnet --version I don't get any SSL libraries - just my version. I would like to be able to monitor some https sites but when I add the urls to the hosts.cfg file it fails. I am running the web console for my Xymon server over https. I am a newbie to linux so responses could be dummied down it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, -- Jewel

Windows Mount Points not graphing

Windows being able to mount things in places other than C:, D:, etc is fairly new. Are you using the most recent version of Xymon and BBWin? I don't know for sure if these support the new style mount points, but it may be worth a try. You may just need to update the graph definitions in graphs.cfg. I have a few new machines that have mount points that are not graphing, but show up as broken images on the bottom of the page. Any ideas?No other machine has this issue when graphing, all of the Linux machines show their mount points. [image: Inline image 1]

quick questions - ignores in client-local.cfg?

Can I say for example [linux] log:/var/log/messages:102400 ignore nslcd ignore MARK ignore %.*be2net.* or do those all have to be one regexp? (and can I say "ignore nslcd" or does it have to be "ignore %.*nslcd.* " ?

Behavior of RECOVERED in alerts.cfg

I have a question about the RECOVERED flag in alerts.cfg. Here's an example: PAGE=somepage COLOR=red MAIL somebody at somewhere.com DURATION>7 RECOVERED REPEAT=1h The behavior I'm seeing is that if a test on PAGE=somepage turns red for less than 7 minutes and then turns green again, we'll get an email for the recovery but not the initial red state. Is this the expected behavior of the RECOVERED flag? Is it possible to configure Xymon to send a recovered notification *only* if there was a corresponding notification that was sent for the initial red state? Thanks, Ray

xymon graphs are not visible

Please keep replies on the mailing list. The installation docs are inside the distribution file, and I'm pretty sure can be accessed from the Help menu in the sample site, xymon.com.
