Hi All, I recently compiled xymon4.3.16 on my system: HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64 (virtual machine) I got into some troubles ,(that I fixed ) ... When compiling: I had to Replace CLOCK_MONOTONIC with CLOCK_REALTIME in: timing.c When issuing gmake install: I got ERRORS in: build/Makefile.rules Had to replace find $(INSTALLROOT)$(INSTALLWWWDIR) -type f -print0 | xargs -0 chmod 644 with find $(INSTALLROOT)$(INSTALLWWWDIR) -type f -print | xargs chmod 644 After this everything went OK. But I notice after starting xymon that several processes: Xymond_channel consumed massive amount of CPU >80% constant. After 10 minutes everything goes purple and you can see "Peer not up, flushing message queue" in the logfiles I have had this problem since version 4.3.8 ... My solution is to replace the xymond_channel binary with the one from the xymon 4.3.7 version that apparently works well. So my system runs OK now. I though I remembered seeing on here that someone had used —extra-script on xymon_rrd to send data to opentsdb… If that’s the case, do you have any points/settings for setting it up? I just setup an opentsdb instance, and wanted to move data into it. Core File Problems

Hi, on our Solaris 10 servers we have the following in the analysis.cfg file: %^/var/core/.* NOEXIST yellow I have a green for a server and yet it has a core file: /var/core -rw------- 1 root root 4.0G Feb 10 18:36 core_Server99_had_0_0_1392057329_4030 The Xymon server's Files web page shows: Thu Feb 13 15:50:50 GMT 2014 - Files ok /var/core/core_Server99_had_0_0_1392057329_4030 If I click on the link it displays: [file:/var/core/core_lbisvr3_had_0_0_1392057329_4030] ERROR: Value too large for defined data type What can I do about this to get it to show a Yellow as required? Also, when there are no core files present, the Xymon overview displays a White face instead of a Green icon, can this be fixed? We are running Xymon 4.3.14. Regards, Nick Pettefar

Hello. xymon/build/Makefile.rules contains find $(INSTALLROOT)$(INSTALLWWWDIR) -type f -print0 | xargs -0 chmod 644 what about to change it ? For example to find $(INSTALLROOT)$(INSTALLWWWDIR) -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; Some time $(INSTALLWWWDIR) may be empty. Building brake at this case: make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/builder/RPM/BUILD/xymon-4.3.13/web' find /home/builder/tmp-build/xymon-buildroot/var/www/xymon -type f -print0 | xargs -0 chmod 644 chmod: missing operand after `644' Try `chmod --help' for more information. -- Regards, Sergey

Hello all I'm trying to setup a url test up i Xymon host.cfg It has to monitor two url's on the same website 1). http://servername:758 2). http://servername:758/Mobile We are running Xymon ver. 4.3.12. 1). Problem: Error: we get timeouts like this (servername is not the correct name) http://servername0:758/ - Server timeout Seconds: 12.49 Any suggestion how to monitor url's with a specific port number in it? I could bring up the main screen with http://<server-ip>/xymon<http://%3cserver-ip%3e/xymon> 4. but when you clicked on any of the icons, they could not find the screen to bring up I have been using the 4.3.0-0 beta release for 4 years with very little problems but now I wish to create a latest and greatest version so that I can port all my custom scripting. At my old employer I monitored over 1,200 devices on a Dell Server. I wanted to allow some of the routines that I have created to be shared but I cannot bring up my own server to test and upgrade the scripts. I am at a loss at this point! Dir size check "Could not determine size of directory"

Trying to do a directory size alert but I am getting a yellow alert: ! /mm/foo/request/chkpt Could not determine size of directory /mm/foo/request/chkpt The directory exists and xymon can read it. It does take a very long time, up to two minutes. Might there be a timeout and if so might I be able to change it? Problems with log file monitoring form Windows

I'm trying to monitor some log files from windows. By using the XymonPSClient I've been able to add the following to client-local.cfg and get the file data sent to Xymon, [servername] log:D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\*.tdmp:20480 log:D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\*.tr*:20480 log:D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\*.cb*:20480 log:D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\*.tco:20480 log:D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\*.tb*:20480 log:D:\Transact\Exceptions\Server\Logs\*.cb*:20480 log:D:\Transact\Exceptions\Server\Logs\*.tr*:20480 log:D:\Transact\Exceptions\Server\Logs\*.tdmp:20480 I'm now trying to get analysis.cfg working but am struggling with matching the log file names. Ideally as the messages can occur in any of these log files I'd like a single line that will match any of the following patterns D:\Transact\Exceptions\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.tr1 D:\Transact\Exceptions\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.tdmp D:\Transact\Exceptions\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.cb1 D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.tb1 D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd.tco D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.cb1 D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.tr1 D:\Transact\Transact\Server\Logs\ccyymmdd_hhmmss.tdmp I suspect it just me not seeing the obvious but I'm struggling to get a regular expression to match. HTTP status 500

Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if there was anyway to configure xymon so a HTTP result with status 500 would also show as red (instead of white). Currently running 4.2.3 so maybe this has been changed in an update?
