Hi all, Few things that we notice : 1) Error during the make install cd etcfiles; ../../build/merge-lines hobbitcgi.cfg /home/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitcgi.cfg cd etcfiles; ../../build/merge-sects hobbitlaunch.cfg /home/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitlaunch.cfg larrdstatus=rrdstatus larrddata=rrddata merge-sects in free(): error: junk pointer, too high to make sense Abort trap (core dumped) gmake[1]: *** [install-cfg] Error 134 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/root/software/hobbit-4.1.1/hobbitd' gmake: *** [install-hobbitd] Error 2 Workaround : Change manualy the occurence of larrd to rrd in hobbitlaunch.cfg 2) bbhostgrep with the following tags: we have a lot of nokia appliance that we poll for snmp via the snmp script, the devices don't reply for icmp, so we need to have this line in our bb-hosts x.x.x.x nokiavpn # testip noconn snmp when we execute bbhostgrep snmp, it return no value. The only way actually is to put x.x.x.x nokiavpn # testip noping snmp but we would like to not have the conn test (we need testip as the boxes don't have a fqdn) 3) hobbit client About the disk, The release 5.4 got devfs (2 entries show 100%), so the line with df should look like: df -H -tnonfs,nullfs,cd9660,procfs,devfs Not quite sure about vmstat, In freebsd you can use -w for wait -c for count, so should it be vmstat -w 300 -c 2 instead of vmstat 300 2, also the sleep command in Freebsd take argument in second so sleep 5 is for 5 second , was it expected to wait 5 minutes ? Hi Henrik, I've another little problem with rss pages. I have about 10 pageset available for different kind of users (DB, NETWORK, etc) and it seems that rss files are not created for pagesets but only for principal bb pages. Is it possible to create rss file also for pageset? Am I doing something wrong with parameters of bbgen? This is the command line for bbgen I use to generate one of the pagesets: bbgen --pageset=inet --report=bbgen-inet --nopurple --nstab=INET/nstab.html --recentgifs --subpagecolumns=2 --nopropred=msgs,vmio --pagetext-headings --timing --docurl=/hobbit/admin/notes.php?host=%s --rssversion=2.0 --eventignore=uptime,event,msgs,vmio,legato --includecolumns=graph --bb2-ignorecolumns=legato --rss BBHOME/www/INET

Eliminating the reporting of MEMSWAP

I have a situation where the MEMSWAP value for a SLES9 machine running the Hobbit client is reporting the high 90% range. Specifying: HOST=gonotessmtp MEMSWAP 95 99 still causes a red condition to be reported. Until this can be resolved, is there a way to turn off the MEMSWAP report? BB / Hobbit setup : bbproxy, bbrelay, etc.

Hi Henrik I'm still moving from BB to Hobbit and need some light... Here's my current setup : - srv1 : "master" BB server (BB 1.9e w/ bbgen 3.6), act as BBDISPLAY, BBNET and BBPAGER - srv2 : Hobbit 4.1.1, act as BBPROXY (forwards "status" and "page" to srv1) - srv3 : BB 1.9e w/ bbgen 3.6, act as BBDISPLAY, BBNET, BBPAGER plus BBRELAY (forwards "status" to srv1) I would like to : - run all of my paging scripts on srv1 - replace BB with Hobbit on srv3 I'm not sure of the best way to do it... First of all, is this setup supported ? Should I run Hobbit with only [bbproxy] and [bbnet] tasks, or something else ? Many thanks in advance for your answer. Lots of filesystems and disk graphs

I have a server with a lot of filesystems on it, somewhere around 50. And I'm finding that hobbit will only show about the first 36 on the disk page. Is there any way to make it display all the graphs? I can manually edit the URL for the longer historical view of the graphs and get to the last couple, so the RRD files are being populated.

The client is installed automatically # when you install a Hobbit server (presumably, you do want to monitor the # Hobbit server ?), but there's no need to have two hobbitlaunch instances # running at the same time.
