I bet you have a hobbit client running, it installs automatically with the server. Check your hobbitlaunch.cfg file for the the hobbit client entry and disable it. Hey all, Been getting this since I did an bb->hobbit conversion on Thurs. I even upgraded to the 4.1.2 snapshot and it didn't fix it. The msgs file for my hobbit server (which still runs the bb client, not the hobbit) alternates between clear and green every few minutes. There's no error/downtime, so it's not troubling but it's destroying my "All non-green" page. It will go green, then two minutes later it goes clear with this message: " System logs at (null) : No log data available The client did not report any logfile data" Then a couple minutes later it goes green again. Hi all How I can create this environment (look in image), where I create one new collum (Custom) with link, but without a service. This link is for other page on my system ?! Not necessarily, most of the "dead" partitions on my machines are CD's that were mounted to install software, and then dismounted, leaving an .rrd file, but returning nothing in the df output after being dismounted. If you do drop a file system, you expect to do extra work. ie. locate rrd file and delete it (or run a command that does it for you). I would be concerned if a tool automatically removed a disk parition graph if it was not mounted at the time it was last checked. Maybe this should be made as a note in the documentation somewhere. Problem with the rss file

Hi Henrik, I've a little problem with the creation of the rss/xml file. Sometimes I get errors in it related at some external plugin used with some bb client that put character that will distrupt the file. This is an example of what i get: The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------- A semi colon character was expected. Error processing resource 'http://itromlx10/bb/bb2.rss'. Line 66, Position 55 <description>red Tue Sep 20 10:19:43 MET DST 2005 &red prtdiag reports some failures !!! </description> ------------------------------------------------------^ It seems to me that the & char have to be escaped (or removed) to get it work. I actually get the same thing, but it happens between 5:30 and 6:30 every day. I have an odd issue... >From around 10pm at night to around 11pm (EST) I have a gap in my CPU and Processes/Users graphs. I haven't seen any reasons in the hobbit logs. Other RRD graphs are fine (disk, vmstat, etc) This is not just one night, but every night. I am using the hobbit client on the hobbit server, and hobbit client on another linux box (both are CentOS 4). Has anyone else seen this? What is significant about CPU, Proc/Users graphs? That is a bit more work, and for sites running hobbitd_filestore with the "--html" option to save the HTML status log every time a status message is received it will be a performance killer. But I don't know of anyone who does that - it really doesn't make sense with Hobbit. Next problem is that the hobbitsvc CGI that generates the HTML for the status logs doesn't know anything about how RRD files map to graphs. That's done by the hobbitgraph CGI.... So it's a simple problem that requires some re-shuffling to fix. Henrik

Henrik, it appears that having partitions removed from a Linux/Unix system messes up the disk drive display. The disk test continues to display the removed partitions (at least in the legend), but at the expense of not displaying all of the current partitions. In order to display all of the current partitions you have to manually remove the .rrd files that correspond to the removed partitions. Evidently the program just goes through the .rrd files until it has read the same number of files as there are lines in the report from the client. It might be better to read all the .rrd files, regardless of number, or to check that the .rrd file corresponds with a line in the disk test data. Thanks, Larry Barber
