Thanks for your feedback, Stef. Follow up on xymon for AIX. Here's what I have gotten on the client host running AIX7.1 1. xymon-4.3.27 2. pcre 8.32-1 C R Perl-compatible regular 3. make-4.0-1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 27 Jul 24 2014 /usr/bin/gmake@ ../../opt/freeware/bin/make* Here's the output with configure.client: # MAKE=gmake ./configure.client Configuration script for Xymon client This script asks a few questions and builds a Makefile to compile Xymon Checking your make-utility Xymon normally keeps all of the client configuration files on the Xymon server. If you prefer, it is possible to use a local client configuration file instead - if so, answer 'client' to the next question. NB: Local configuration requires the PCRE libs on each host. Server side client configuration, or client side [server] ? client Checking for the PCRE libraries Checking for PCRE ... gmake: cc: Command not found Makefile.test-pcre:4: recipe for target 'test-compile' failed gmake: *** [test-compile] Error 127 ERROR: Cannot compile using PCRE library. gmake: cc: Command not found Makefile.test-pcre:7: recipe for target 'test-link' failed gmake: *** [test-link] Error 127 ERROR: Cannot link with PCRE library. Missing PCRE include- or library-files. These are REQUIRED for xymond PCRE can be found at http://www.pcre.org/ If you have PCRE installed, use the "--pcreinclude DIR" and "--pcrelib DIR" options to configure to specify where they are. Wonder if anything else I missed? Is pcre-devel also a pre-req for xymon client? Thanks!

Good morning, all. I've got a request from my security and monitoring team for a way to export a list of all configured clients along with their IP addresses and either descriptions or page/subpage locations. Other than providing them with a copy of hosts.cfg on a regular basis, I've been unsuccessful in locating a way to do so (either in the documentation/man pages, mailing list archives or just good old Google). Hi Fair enough – it must be something to do with analysis.cfg then. The man page is a bit light on information in this area – have you tried \ (backslash-space) for the spaces? Maybe someone else could chip in with the correct configuration. I'm using Xymon 4.3.27 server and WinPSClient 2.15. I've put the following lines in the analysis.cfg file. SVC "Netbackup Client Service" SVC XymonPSClient Xymon correctly matches up the XymonPSClient on the SVCS page, but the "Netbackup Client Server". I've tried it with/without the quotes in the analysis.cfg file. What am I missing? Thanks, Dave

Previously posted the below but did not get a response. So is xymon systemd capable or not? If so where can I find the required files? Help is appreciated. Somehow I am missing the required files for systemd. I found nothing in etc/default or in etc/sysconfig. There was no .service file either. Lifted the .service file from Source Forge but that is not sufficient. I suppose there are other files but I can't seem to find them. Other than this issue my install went well and xymon is up and running. (great product!) My system is RH enterprise Linux 7.2. Xymon is 4.3.27 running on a zSeries. Thanks.

So, as Stef said, check alerts.cfg and the alert.log file. As it's an email, you could check your xymon server's mail logs to see if the email was generated and delivered. Also check your ServiceNow server's mail logs to see if the message was received by mail. Cheers Jeremy

Hello, We had power outage and couple of our Linux servers went down, but there were no ServiceNow tickest generated. Please do you have any idea as to why the ticket was not generated? Thanks, Sir Balash

Greetings! I just stood up an xymon server on Centos 7.2.1511 and I am in the process of gathering information to facilitate with the install/setup of AIX7 xymon clients. i can't seem to locate a central site centric to AIX client software download/installation/setup for xymon. Kindly point me to the right direction. Thanks in advance!
