Cannot link with SSL Library

New installation of Xymon 4.3.21 on OpenSUSE 13.2. Xymon won't compile with SSL support even though I have OpenSSL and libopenssl-devel installed. When I run "openssl version" it says OpenSSL 1.0.1k-fips. Here is what I see when I run ./configure: (note: I also tried running configure.server with -sslinclude and -ssllib). When I run "openssl verions -a" I don't see gcc listed under compiler. I see "-I. -I.. -I../incluse -fPIC" etc. I may have installed gcc after openssl, but gcc is installed. Checking for OpenSSL ... My twitter style alerts are not alerting me when there is an alert. LDAP test will not use nonstandard port

Hi all, I'm running an LDAP test against an Oracle LDAP server from xymon using this configuration: ldap://oud1.example.com:1389/DC=example,DC=com "ldaplogin=cn=admin:password" That test is failing with the error that it cannot contact the server. Oracle monitoring with dbcheck fails

Hi all, I am currently under way migrating from my current Xymon server running on Ubuntu to redundant Xymon servers running on CentOS. I am having Oracle monitoring enabled with dbcheck on my Ubuntu server and it is working fine, but the same setup does not work on CentOS. 1. The oracle client is installed 2. All required perl modules are installed 3. The same dbcheck.ini file used on Ubuntu has been copied over to CentOS 4. The dbcheck task is running 5. ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH has been set 6. I can connect to all my monitored Oracle instances with: sqlplus64 xymonuser/xymonpassword at host/SID as the Xymon user 7. The following perl script gives no error output #!/usr/bin/perl use DBI; $ENV{'ORACLE_HOME'}="/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client64/"; $dbhost="hostname"; $port=1521; $sid="SID"; $user="xymonuser"; $pw="xymonpassword"; $data_source="DBI:Oracle:host=$dbhost;port=$port;sid=$sid"; $dbh = DBI->connect($data_source,$user,$pw ,{ RaiseError => 1, PrintError =>1}); $dbh->disconnect; exit 0; However, the only thing I get in the dbfast.log is: Timeout connecting to DBI:Oracle:host=hostname;port=1521;sid=SID! This is weird, and it got even more weird when I realized that dbcheck does not even try to communicate with the Oracle instances, it simply logs the error message and exits. I ran tcpdump to verify this and there is no connection attempt being made by dbcheck. Hi Xymon' I kind a like this feature and the result which I've found on xymon.com under Services https://www.xymon.com/services/services.html # The link test does a port 80 check to the IP listed here. Since we use "testip", the IP cannot be NULL. The IP listed must respond on port 80. testip link at 192.168.1.1 COMMENT:"Cable link" But which version of xymon is it working on? I'm using Debian 7 and Xymon 4.3.20 There is also the IP test next to Link and it seems to me that these two are going together. Can anyone give some hint to me for getting this to work? Script or configuration change? Regards Stougaards

Hello out there, in the past every now and then i looked to the xymonton website www.xymonton.org<http://www.xymonton.org> for new monitors and plug-ins. Now this site seems to be down? Can anybody tell what happened to this site? Are there other resources on the web where I might have a look for interesting additional xymon stuff? reading /var/log/messages

We just set up splunk in our environment and have made all our /var/log/messages owned by root:splunk mode 640 so that splunk can read and index these files. I was thinking I could add xymon user to splunk group and that would allow xymon to read /var/log/messages as well, but it doesn't seem to be working. I can read /var/log/messages as the xymon user but the msgs web page is still showing Cannot open logfile /var/log/messages : Permission deniedAny ideas on what else I can do to allow xymon to get these logs?
