You can do this via a combo test defined in combo.cfg https://xymon.sourceforge.io/xymon/help/manpages/man5/combo.cfg.5.html i.e. you could define something like.. servers.cpu = (srv1.cpu + srv2.cpu + srv3.cpu) > 1 or perhaps... servers.cpu = (srv1.cpu || srv2.cpu || srv3.cpu) which would be green if one or more of the individual cpu tests were green. You could then alert on "HOST=servers TEST=cpu" as normal. Regards, Adam

Hello, Say I have 3 servers Srv1 Srv2 Srv2 Is it possible to configure an alert so that it will fire only when the CPU test for all 3 servers has gone yellow or red? In other words, I don?t want Xymon to alert when one server or two servers are having problems. Only when all three are. Thanks, g

Issues with xymon Alerts

We are running cumin version 4.3.29 and getting sporadic network disconnects alerts with no loss in pings as we check the servers. Also, we see that xymon_red is crashed. Please help. Thank you! Elizabeth

I once tried a Big brother add on that did that on your PC. This was in 2002 and I can't remember what it was called. It may come back to me. Through the alerts you could possibly do this. I'm not sure how you'd do it on the browser/xymon.html/xymon2.html. Hello, I was wondering if there's any way to configure xymon to play a little notification sound when a test goes red, if possible I'd like to configure something like "If this test has been consistently red for 10 minutes then play a sound"

ran Trimhistory and it broke something

Per the instructions found at https://xymon.sourceforge.io/xymon/help/manpages/man8/trimhistory.8.html I ran the following command to trim my very old log history and ever since then I'm getting the following crash alert.? Also when reviewing history via the webpage I get results but the time stamps are wonky.? I suspect it's because of the program crashing. Anyone know how to fix? Trimhistory command I used: $ ./trimhistory --drop --dropsvcs --droplogs --cutoff=`date +%s --date="1 Jan 2019"` --progress Alert I'm receiving: > xymond_history purple [549922] > red - Program crashed > > Fatal signal caught! -- Kris Springer

"Alerting:" not populated on web page

I have entries defined in my alerts.cfg I have the [alert] task ENABLED in my tasks.cfg When I use 'xymond_alert --dump-config', the result appears as I expect. When I use 'xymond_alert --test . . .', it indicates a mail message will be sent (if I supply an appropriate combination of times, duration, color, and test). But the "Alerting:" section of the host's "info" web-page remains stubbornly empty, saying only "No alerts defined". I can't figure out why. Does anyone have ideas? This installation is running Xymon 4.3.30-1.el7.terabithia on CentOS 7 I have a similar, but older, installation running Xymon 4.3.28 on Solaris 10, where it displays as I expect. -- -- Do things because you should, not just because you can.
