Hi I am using Hobbit v 4.2. I am monitoring some Linux servers as well as Windows servers. When I click on the 'HISTORY' button for any of the columns such as cpu, memory, etc. I get a message saying "Cannot open history file". I am able to see the history data for the Windows servers. Can someone please help me how to resolve this issue for the Linux servers? Thanks -- Sridhar

yum or rpm for Redhat 6

Xymon experts, I am running the Redhat 6.2 64 bit OS. Is there a (yum) distribution channel for Xymon or perhaps a rpm src package for Redhat 6 to install from? Or will I need to build and compile it all from scratch from the given download package? Tim Tyler Network Engineer Beloit College

Xymon Internal Server Error

Greetings all, I have Xymon 4.3.5 running on redhat 5. It has been working fine for quite some time. Around 3am this morning, the webpages display "internal Server error". I looked at the apache logs and Xymon logs and do not see anything that is wrong or that could be causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kapildev Khemraj

Configuration report

I need to do a health check on all the servers we monitor and what thresholds/alerts are associated with it. However, the config report is quite huge due to the fact that the "procs" column apparently spits out the current process list of the machine. Also, according to the manpage confreport.cgi doesn't include analysis.cfg data. And this email from back in 2006 shows it hasn't been fixed. Anyone have any ideas on how I may accomplish this task efficiently for 1000+ servers? Henrik Stoerner wrote: > You're not crazy. autofixing

My management has gotten the idea that we should be automating the repair processes on our servers. They want things set up so that when a fault is detected a script is run that attempts to repair it. I've tried to convince them that this is a profoundly wrong-headed idea, but I'm not having much luck. Do any of you know of any articles or resources that might help convince them? [Xymon 4.3.7] bad imaps check

Hi, I have installed Xymon 4.3.7 on Centos 5.8 x64. Before that, I have installed it on a RHEL 5.6, everything worked fine until I tried to check an imaps server. The Xymon on RHEL is OK, and it grab the ssl certificate, but on the Centos, it displays a yellow error, with the message "Service imaps on my_server is not OK : Unexpected service response", and of course don't see the certificate. The only difference (except the system) is that I've compiled a RPM for the Centos system. When I test imaps with openssl on both systems (openssl s_client -connect my_server:993 -ssl3) the result is * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE AUTH=PLAIN] Dovecot ready. New BBWin Agent GUI Available

The guys over at Squidworks.net have been working on a new BBWin GUI (version 2) to allow their techs an easier way of managing the thresholds on Windows servers without the need to diddle with the XML file. We are releasing the new GUI app to the public and licensing it under GPL3 as freeware. XYMON column not displaying [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

UNCLASSIFIED// Hi, I have a custom script running on my XYMON server. The following link shows the basic setup http://www.xymon.com/xymon/help/xymon-tips.html#scripts As seen the server side script is essentially the same with the exception that I run a python script that returns a COLOR and RESULT. With a few slight modifications I can run this script from /ext and it echo's the correct results. So far so good. Additionally, as I am running XYMON 4.3. I added a new section to the tasks.cfg file along with a NEEDS xymond that is not included in the [myscript] example from the attached link. I updated the hosts.cfg file and added the new service against the IP address and name of a client server. NOT my monitoring server. When I restart XYMON all seems to be running successfully. The Log file does not report any errors and as I said before with a few slight mods I can echo the correct results to the screen. The issue I am having is that even though all appears to be doing its job the new column does not appear on my monitoring page. Any ideas? Would appreciate the guidance.
