So are you wanting to monitor each port as a separate service or all on the ports page? Ports uses the `netstat` command to determine what ports are in use on the system, when the client data is sent to Xymon this is then controlled by the analysis.cfg (hobbit-clients.cfg) to determine which ports to look for and how many there should be (set to 0 so that it will alert if a port becomes active - e.g. we have this set for telnet as none of our servers should have telnet enabled). Or you can get the Xymon server to probe the client to check from a remote perspective if the ports/service are up and running (check the hosts.cfg/bb-hosts man page for a list of all of the built in tests you can use, or write your own extensions). Hi all, I am monitoring 50 servers on xymon out of which 20 are database servers. Therefore I want to separate the application servers with database server. I want to add a new header to separate the servers into two groups. Can someone help how I can achieve that? Regards, Sailesh

Debian/RHEL differentiation

I would like to be able to have different files listed in client-local.cfg and hobbit-clients.cfg for two different flavors of Linux: Debian and Redhat. The client line in the client data from both servers names them as 'linux', however the [osversion] block, of course, is OS specific. Can this be done? Thanks, Steve

Is there a way to define holidays, which are recognized only in parts of a country? E. g. for germany holidays.cfg file contains entries for Epiphany, Assumption Day and Reformation Day which are honored only in parts of Germany. Yours

Xymon grouped page and cond additional yellow regex check

Hi, I've developed 2 patches for my company. The grouped.patch creates a grouped.html which shows all non green Servers grouped by page. The regex.patch adds an extra check to have a regex for a yellow check (The delemiter is "||" without the quotes). This only applies if you have create a second regex. If not the behavior is the same as before. Adding a graph to test status view

Can anyone tell me how to get a graph onto a test status page? I have a devmon template that monitors fan speed and creates a "fans" status page. Because the OIDs are leaf nodes, I have to construct a table myself. This is all working. Having added "fans=devmon" to "TEST2RRD", I now have RRD files named fans.FanSpeed1.rrd, fans.FanSpeed2.rrd and so on. I've added "fans" to "GRAPHS", and created a graphs.cfg definition for "[fans]", and so the graphs appear on the trends page. The man page for xymonserver.cfg describes TEST2RRD, and states: "This is also used by the svcstatus.cgi(1) script to determine if the detailed status view of a test should include a graph." So it would seem that by declaring "fans=devmon" in "TEST2RRD", I should now be getting the graphs of fan speed on the test status page. But I get nothing. There must be something else I'm missing.
