BBALPHAMSG truncated

I'm currently in the progress of upgrading/replacing my old hobbit version 4.2.0 to 4.3.4 I have installed on a brand new server and I'm just testing if everything is ok. My SMS alert script seems to work ok, but the BBALPHAMSG variable seems to be truncated to around 12-16 characters, leaving the status messages incomplete. I can easily add $DOWNSECS and/or $DOWNSECSMSG and they are added to the message which then is longer of cause. The exact same script works on my old server, and by manually setting the variables I can send any text I like. Hi All, I need some help and I hope someone out there can provide it. We are running xymon as our primary monitoring system for Internet circuits we provide to customers. Of course, when the circuits go down, we get alerts and it is logged in xymon. All this works great. However, we need an automated system that once per month will send an email with the event history for EACH circuit we monitor. I can see how to generate reports that give a percentage of the overall uptime. However, I need the actual history. For example, on connectivity monitoring, if the site went down for 5 minutes on the 5th of the month and for 10 minutes on the 15th of the month, I need the report to basically show exactly this information. If there were no events for that month, the entry should still be listed, just with no events. So, for example: Site 1: Site 2: Site 3: 12/5/11 - 5 minutes , 12/15/11 - 45 minutes Site 4: Site 5: Site 6: Site 7: 12/10/11 - 12 hours, 12/11/11 - 24 hours, 12/12/11 -24 hours, 12/13/11 - 10 hours Site 8: Site 9: Thank you for your help!

Feature request - thresholds for CPU utilisation (not load average)

I see that Buchan asked for this a few years back. Has anyone done this. I would like to start alerting on %CPU not LOAD. I would still like to graph LOAD and have that show up under trends. The % CPU is already in Trends being graphed it would be nice just to pull that over to the CPU column. I can't get xymon to use the defined load settings for named hosts. It only reacts on the settings from the DEFAULT section. part of analysis.cfg: ... In this case the display goes to yellow because "17%" is between the default values 15 and 25. I've tried to add a percent sign to the host load definitions but that doesn't change anything. Hello, I just start to use xymon for a test using a xymonserver(linux), xymonclient(linux), and a windows client. I do not understand why for the linux client the CPU status it's not show. Please could you let me know what config file I have to adjust for it. Thanks Constantin

error foe script to monitor database

Hi all, I have a script to monitor my oracle databse. I am getting the error below on my browser. The script where the error is happening is below. The problem is that the script is retuning a null value instead of my sid which is cnp1. Please can anyone help where there is a problem in the script. Directory for patches to 4.3.6?

Hi Henrik, I want to start the process but I know there are already some bugs against 4.3.6 that you have posted the patches for on the mailing list. Unfortunately I lost those threads. I was wondering if there was somewhere on Sourceforge where these might be stored, so the average joe could go download the 4.3.6 tarball, then the additional patches. Or would that be the same as just downloading the current trunk? -Tom

show netstat output?

Hello, Is there a way of getting XYMON to show the Netstat output of a particular server? The same way the 'procs' and/or 'cpu' view shows a list of tasks running. It would be nice to have a 'netstat' column which shows connections to the client. TIA! tom.

Hi, Some time ago Ralph Mitchell posted a message that he was able to use curl to post a message to the cgi script xymoncgimsg.cgi. http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.monitoring.hobbit/27772 I'm trying to do the same, but it's not working. Ralph, can you explain more in detail what you did? Or somebody else can help? The goal is to use ssl encryption between client and server. I also like the idea of using the https protocol for the communication. Stef
