Repeat: Issues with DOWNTIME, purple status, and sslcert test

What's interesting is what happens when the time rolls around with the sslcert test (I'll pick Friday night out of the air, but there's nuance every day): host1: Green until purple at 2245. host2: Ditto. host3: Ditto. host4: Blue at ~2200, red at 2245. All four share the same DOWNTIME definition, aside from the tests involved, so I'm mighty confused. Hi I'm running xymon client and server 4.3.0 beta3 on a server called toto, a linux host. In ~xymon/server/etc/client-local.cfg I created a section as follow : [toto] file:`find /test -name tata` On client side, in ~xymon/client/tmp/logfetch.toto.cfg, there is nothing like I configured in the client-local.cfg. It seems the server transfered the [linux] section, not the [toto] one. I tried to remove the logfetch.toto.cfg file, restarted both client and server with no effect. How could I correct this ? Graph stopped working

Using Hobbit 4.20, had a custom graph working fine. Copied that graph definition, and renamed the [subject] and the data names under it. When I saved it, not having changed a thing on the original definition, it disappeared from the page, replaced with the infamous ncv:name-of-graph. I commented out the new definition and saved hobbitgraph.cfg. No change. Deleted new def and saved. No change. So . . . umm, ??

Request for get data from Oracle database.

Hi All, I would like get data from oracle database on a particular table. For example: SELECT count(1) from emp; I want to display the result of the above query into my xymon page. Kindly let me know what the steps are for do the same. Which files need to modify/configure etc. With Regards, Jay.

hobbit-alerts.cfg and where's the needle

Is there any way to find out exactly where a recipient is being picked up to be alerted for a specific host? I.e. (on Xymon 4.2.3) I have 2 recipients for all tests on a pair of hosts and there should be only one. They are windows application servers and both the app admins and unix admins are getting the alerts. The info pages for both hosts on that page show both groups as recipients. I've scoured the hobbit-alerts.cfg file and I can NOT see any way the unix admin group should be included as a recipient for either of the hosts on the page in question, nor for either of the individual hosts. What I'm looking for is a tool that will read the hobbit-alerts.cfg file and take args like a host name and recipient, and return an explanation of how the results are compiled, in particular, which config line or lines would result in a specific recipient being included. I know this is highly unlikely to exist, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks! Steve Purdue University/ITSO

rrdtools configure.sh options

Hello, another mail another simple problem. if i run the configure script it tells me that i haven't installed rrdtools, altought i installed it. But the problem is more, that the script hasn't got any output if i start it with the the options: "--rrdinclude DIR" and "--rrdlib DIR" Here is a paste, we're i show you some information about the package I've installed (should be the right one with the lib and include files) and how i run the script. As you can see: ./configure acts more or less normal but ./configure --rrdinclude /opt/include --rrdlib /opt/lib/ and ./configure --rrdinclude /opt/include/rrd.h --rrdlib /opt/lib/librrd.so doesn't have any output. http://paste2.org/p/1170448 Maybe it's only a bit late for me cause i don't see the mistake ... greetings

Compile on different system?

Hello all! last week, i've installed a little webserver on my NAS (a mybook world 1TB white line). And everthing works perfectly:) Now i want to add xymon as a monitoring software on it. But my problem is, that i haven't got the gcc. (see a list of available packages: http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/cs05q1armel/cross/unstable/Packag… ) Is it possible to compile everything on my desktopPC (x86) and simply move it to the nas? I haven't compiled something personally in my life, so please be a bit tolerant;D PS: The NAS has an ARM architecture. It is linux based with busybox. greetings from germany Simon

Adding custom graphs

First attempt at a custom graph. Using hob*it 4.20, as we have "too much to do" to upgrade. I've managed to create the client scripts, gathered data, create the rrd files and the graph definition (this apparently incorrectly) but only see an icon with the text "hobbitgraph.ncv:mygraph_name" next to it. I see this on both column page I intend and also on trends page. So, I am not too far off, I guess. I am sure I've missed something obvious. Any hints?

Dear All, after been away a while, I want to know which is the latest version of "xymon". I used to testinstall on HP-UX, but during the time I was away it passed away for me. Today I am using Ubuntu, have to have unix look-alike os. I found a version 4.4.0-1 on my old backups, but there are some bugs.
