I was wondering, I've got quite a few test know, and the number of columns is getting very long. Is there a way to break up the Display so that under each main group heading, it removes any columns in that group that don't have any data. Thanks.James

xmon 4.3 - COMPACT: usage

The bb-hosts for 4.3 includes the following: COMPACT:COLUMN=COLUMN1,COLUMN2,COLUMN3[;ditto] Collapses a series of statuses into a single column on the overview webpage. Has anyone used this successfully, or has an example of usage? When I've tried this, it does not create a new column on display, but it does seem to make all the tests I list except for the first one unclickable (other words, clicking the icon seems to do nothing). -Alan

Power 5 compatibility

Is xymon 2.2.0 compatible to display graphs for the pc and ec of power 5 systems? I've tried to do what the wiki says but i can't find the source to change so it will allow it. We wanna be able to see what the lpars are doing. Any ideas?. Hi all, Tried with advice recently from here, and other places to do a proper plist file But for some reason it doesn't work properly. could anyone have a quick look and see if the structure is wrong? A different RECOVERED message problem!

Hi all, This seems to be a bug (or at least a flaw) in the alerting system (on hobbit trunk from Dec 2008): a recovery is sent for a MAIL alert that never actually sent an alert in the first place. The last two lines in the notifications.log are recoveries that were sent at the exact same time. But only 1 alert (alarm) was actually sent out. One of the alert lines triggers on persistent alarms (including yellow alarms), while the other is immediate but for red only. Both have RECOVERED alerts. The test was only red for 2 minutes, so only the first MAIL rule fired initially. It seems that the RECOVERED part does not check that this line actually triggered an alert before sending the recovered message! RECOVERED message problem

Hi All, I've got what appears to be a bug sending RECOVERED messages. - I'm running Hobbit v4.2.0. - In hobbit-clients.cfg, I have this rule for a server: DISK /PROD/arch01 90 95 GROUP=DBA+UNIX- - In hobbit-alerts.cfg, I have this GROUP rule: GROUP=DBA+UNIX- SCRIPT /home/is_sup/hobbit/server/bin/notify.dba.yellow dba_yellow repeat=5m RECOVERED SCRIPT /home/is_sup/hobbit/server/bin/notify.dba.red dba_red repeat=1d RECOVERED MAIL=ITUnixAdmins at kci1.com repeat=1d RECOVERED STOP The alerts go out fine. But when the condition is recovered, only the MAIL recipient gets the RECOVERED message (regardless of ordering). The SCRIPT has been tested to see if it will handle RECOVERED messages. - The /var/log/hobbit/notifications file shows that the RECOVERED message was only sent to the MAIL recipient. - Thoughts? [hobbit] Hobbit startup script.

Well, actually scripts in the rc.d dirs. >So consequently anything that needs to be run by a user such as hobbit, has its startup script coded to do an su hobbit -c "blahblahblah". Correct. Any example scripts people have provided do the "su hobbit -c " thing *because* the hobbit application will not allow you to start it as the root user, due to security issues. >In other words, hobbit still runs as hobbit but the startup script can be run as root. Correct, if you are using an init.d script. You can not run the "hobbit.sh" startup/shutdown script in the hobbit home directory as root for security reasons previously mentioned (nor should you edit that hobbit.sh script to allow root to start it). Test scripts will not drop

Hey everyone, This is probably a simple question and i have checked through the mailing lists to try to solve this problem. I have two scripts running on a NOCONN host named Financials but are hosted on the server fd101. I deleted all the footprints on the server such as the .sh files and changed it in the clientlaunch.cfg file. I went to xymon's home /bin and wrote ./bb 127.0.0.1 "drop mq fd101" and the other way around using Financials as the host name on both tests but it is still sending information and i dont know how. To be safe i also deleted the log files. TCP check with another IP ?

Hi, i ve some servers with 2 ip : - one for production (http, ftp, ... ) - one for administration (ssh, ftp, .. for the admin) I don't want to have 2 lines (one for each ip), so i'm using the "worst" feature for the PING check. It works fine. But for SSH, i can check it only by the main IP, i can't specify another one. So, in future will it be possible to have a feature like this : "ssh=W.X.Y.Z" like for HTTP check with this syntax: http://www.domaine.com=W.X.Y.Z/ This feature will be great and helpful.
