Hi, I searched the archive, the same issue was already asked but no answer. I m having the same logs in all my hobbitclient.logs. except the client installed in the hobbit servers. All remote clients same error message. Any help is apreciated. Thanks.

Cisco interface descriptions

Greetings, all. We had been using Big Brother until our server hardware died a few months back, and we decided to upgrade to Hobbit. We monitor over 100 servers and about 90 network devices with it. Is there any way to get Cisco interface descriptions to show up on the graphs in the Trend column? We managed to get the interface name to appear, but we'd really like more control over how things are labeled. i.e. we'd like the interface name AND its description to appear. some progress on AIX clientupdate problem

I replaced the AIX tar executable with a version of GNU tar and the clientupdate was successful. Since I can't really do that on our other AIX systems I just added the PATH to the GNU tar first in the hobbit .profile but unfortunately that doesn't work. If we could redefine where clientupdate gets the "tar" executable from I think this problem would be solved. -- Jay

Hi all, hi Henrik, at my company we have some HA (say, LVS or web proxies manager with heartbeat, active/standby setup) clusters, and wish to monitor resources only on the active node. In a setup such as : hosts = vs1 and vs2 procs = squid running on master only a custom test named "clustermaster" that gets green when master, and clear otherwise. There are several ways to do so : - add a resource in heartbeat so it starts a "abstracted" hobbit client (with hostname "vsmaster" instead of vs1 or vs2). Configure the hobbit-clients.cfg to monitor heartbeat-managed resources for this virtual host. Simple, straightforward. - add a server-side extension that checks the "clustermaster" color and reconfigures the hobbit-clients.cfg accordingly. - add a server-side extension that checks the "clustermaster" color and mimics the behaviour of a local client. - add a "IF" keyword to hobbit-clients.cfg syntax to condition every check possible. (something like PROC squid 1 1 red IF vs1.clustermaster=green). As usual, the most elegant solution (the last) in the harder. Henrik, could you imagine putting it in hobbit ? Hello Hobbits, my last post was perhaps simply overseen, because I can't believe, that nobody knows something about my question. Or did I miss a chapter in the Manual? By using the "info" Column you can easily disable a System for a planned downtime. However, I would like to inform a group a people about this automatically by sending an eMail directly, when the Downtime is scheduled. Is there a way to do so? Cisco devices with many interfaces

Hi, again. We have a Cisco 6513 with 6 blades with 48 ports each in our datacenter. The Hobbit trend page is excruciatingly long as a result.
