hobbit_rrd core dumping

I cleaned up some old log data and hobbitd_rrd started to core dump. I even tried removing the entire data/rrd/* but it is still dumping core. There is nothing in the rrd-data.log file and rrd-status.log only has a few of these: 2005-10-25 17:36:41 RRD error updating /local/packages/IT/HOBBIT/hobbit/data/rrd/ray2.tigr.org/disk,swap.rrd from 172.17.10.21: illegal attempt to update using time 1130276201 when last update time is 1130276201 (minimum one second step) there was little trouble with rrd graphs before other than the few old files. SMTP diamond shaped trend?

Hey guys, I'm noticing that a lot of my external SMTP tests seems to be forming a diamond like pattern when tests are being done. This isn't just for one server, but for pretty much all of my SMTP tests that are being done on different servers, including local LAN servers. Anyone know why this is happening? unexpected result of use badhttp:

Dear administrators, groups, and others, When I have the line in bb-hosts: 10.0.0.254 www.server.net # ssh:35000 smtp pop3 imap2 http://www.server.net badhttp:3:4:10 and for some reason this server keeps coming up as HTTP timeout. Initially I implemented this use of badhttp: to try to escape a problem with false outages, but even with this set up I'm still having trouble. What makes me think that something isn't going on right is that badhttp:3:4:10 should turn clear after 3 failures, yellow after 4, and red after 10 (I've tried different values from 5 through 10), but still the server turns up red without passing through the other stages. Does badhttp: work differently than I expect it to? Has anyone else had similar experience or have any suggestions? thanks in advance, Paul

I have some external test scripts that interrogate systems that don't support a BB client (Netapp and Tandem). They are scheduled with cron and work fine, but I'd like to make the setup a little more "standard" and cleanup my crontab. It looks like I should put entries in either clientlaunch.cfg or hobbitlaunch.cfg, but I'm not sure which is correct. The scripts are technically the client type, since the emulate the behavior of a BB client, even though they are run on the hobbit server. Which way is correct?

Crash course on hobbit-graphs

Can someone give me a basic understanding on how hobbit-graphs works? I'm planning to attempt to graph a small number of fields of the Microsoft SQL 2000 graph, but reading the iishealth info made me realize that its not capturing keywords of text and converting it to numbers. Most scripts I've seen on deadcat.net will parse for the test you called for then run it. Thankfully hobbit comes with a nifty little util that will return hosts/ips that have that test name for you. All you have to do then is have a script run through a loop with that list and test them all. I can't remember what that util is called, but I read it in the manuals somewhere. Are you using the snmp script from deadcat or maybe the bb-xsnmp.pl script? In any case hobbitlaunch runs things generally every 5 minutes.
