Hi guys, I see a Citrix User graph in hobbitgraph file, but I have unable to find a script on deadcat.net that would support this. Can anyone help me out here? hobbitgraph.cfg definition for graphing total # httpd servers

A problem came up which required us to monitor the total number of apache servers running on our webservers, and I solved it by adding adding a CDEF to apache1 hobbitgraph.cfg definition. The attached patch uses sum of the idle & busy workers data values to create a third value, total workers, for hobbit to graph. It also allowed me to use data I was already collecting with my apache tests instead of creating a new test or addon script, which is always good in my mind. Since it did the trick and we were able to monitor httpd more closely, I thought I'd throw the patch out to the list for others to use, if they needed something like this. If so, I hope it helps you. Hi Everyone, First I just want to say, I have made the switch from BigBrother to Hobbit and, I must say, I'm really loving the flexibility Hobbit brings to the table. Anyways, my first question (of many I'm sure) is that for some reason, I don't get to see the service code that generated the yellow alert. Sat Oct 22 12:55:58 2005 smtp NOT ok Service smtp on mail.geosoft.com is not OK : Unexpected service response Seconds: 0.10 Where as the green alert prints off the code. Sat Oct 22 12:56:20 2005 smtp ok Service smtp on mail.geosoft.com is OK (up) 220 MMS.geosoft.com ESMTP Geosoft:Knowledge from Data.READY Seconds: 0.00 Is there a way to find out what the real response was at that time, or at least, configure it so I know in the future? ldap test without binary output

Hi List Is it possible to do a ldap test and NOT display the (binary) output from the ldap query ? I'm monitoring a Certificate Revokation List, which is in binary format. Hobbit displays the output on the web page, and it sure is ugly :) Thanks /Torben

Monitoring 2 NICS-1 static 1 dynamic

Setting up hobbit on a server with 2 NICs. Server is a link between 2 networks, 1 has a static IP and the other is assigned dynamically by DHCP from a DC. How can I configure hobbit to monitor both NICS successfully? Id like to know which interface/NW(if any) has an outage Thanks for any help.

Changing Hobbit IP Address

We've been running Hobbit and bb parallel for quite a while now. It's now time to 'bite the bullet' and change over to Hobbit (hoo hoo!). I've swapped the IP Address of the machines (so that all of the clients do not have to be touched), rebooted and verified that the Hobbit machine is in fact the new address. I rebuilt Hobbit specifying the new address, restarted Hobbit and now the bbd process comes up red with the following display: ----- Sun Oct 23 10:33:00 2005 bbd ok : Ping failed, or dialup host/service Service bbd on hobbit1 is OK Dialup host/service, or test depends on another failed test Host appears to be down ----- The conn test for the Hobbit server also fails: ----- Sun Oct 23 10:33:00 2005 conn NOT ok Service conn on hobbit1 is not OK : Host does not respond to ping System unreachable for 13 poll periods (3623 seconds) red 172.17.0.13 is unreachable ----- 172.17.0.13 is the old address, the new address is 172.17.1.50. In bb-hosts I have: 172.17.1.50 hobbit1 # BBDISPLAY BBPAGER BBNET bbd http://hobbit1/ Which is the same as before, with just the new IP Address. So the only way currently is to make access to the ack-webpage dependant on a login (implemented by your webserver); then the login-name will appear on the acknowledge. If you select the "secure" webserver setup during Hobbit configuration, that should be the default setup.
